  1. Yes, all of this. This was a perfect storm. Even if they had been in the proper frame of mind to play yesterday's game, I think they still lose because the game plan was such ***** on both sides of the ball. A lesser-talented team would have lost by 40 yesterday. Maybe more. Part of me thinks the coaches were at least subconsciously banking on emotion/adrenaline and the home crowd (and Damar) to get through this game, and then they'd unveil some new stuff to get through KC and the Super Bowl. Didn't work. You play to win the game in front of you, and worry about the next games later.
  2. And since I've seen a few people bring it up... I didn't think bringing Damar into the locker room before the game AND at halftime were the best moves. Every player has a bit of PTSD from that night and every player's trigger is different. Just because you think it's going to be a motivator for the players doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. The team should have had plenty of motivation to win yesterday regardless. This seemed manufactured, especially since the team had already seen Damar around the facility. I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea and ok'd it.
  3. Yeah, except you didn't have an entire fan base depending on you every week to make them feel better about themselves, let alone posting takes on social media every other second about how you do your job.
  4. Somehow I was able to get in to read it, but can’t anymore. Best I can recall, McD latched on to one or two unheralded defensive backs that he really liked and continued to play them long after it was obvious to others that they didn’t have it. And that sounds familiar.
  5. There’s some interesting bread crumbs in there if you care to look. Especially about McD’s propensity to fall in love with certain players and not make changes until it’s too late.
  6. especially when your corners are playing ten yards off the line.
  7. And if we took the ball and went three and out with that stupid jet sweep call, and the Bengals rammed it down our throats for a TD, what then? Kicking off didn’t lose this game. We were woefully underprepared on both sides of the ball. Like we expected HFA would be enough and Cincy would just roll over. Failing to get seven on either side of halftime, let alone both sides, was also killer.
  8. My invectives list will be short but colorful.
  9. Not a bit nervous. As a fan at home I have absolutely no impact on this game, not even an infinitesimal amount. I also think we’re going to stomp the ***** out of them, so there’s that.
  10. My son and I agreed he’d go back a day early (yesterday) so we could both watch uninterrupted. Going today (Rochester to Oberlin) I’d have hit game day traffic both ways.
  11. It was almost as if word went out at halftime that Mahomes was not to be touched if he came back in.
  12. Probably just another back injury
  13. Giants looked kinda bad.
  14. People didn’t wear nearly as much “swag” back in our day. I read an interview with him when he was with Dallas where he said he grew up a Dolphins fan. After that he was dead to me
  15. That’s great. I just don’t understand growing up in WNY and being a Dolphins fan. Never got it. Never will.
  16. talking about Daryl Johnston
  17. He was a Dolphins fan growing up here. One of those douches.
  18. There will be a different defensive game plan when the DC knows the QB is limited. Jacksonville likely wasn’t able to adjust to the gift they were given. A week of practice will make a difference.
  19. that’s what I thought. Not out of the realm of possibility that they do another set after the swelling goes down and “find” a break.
  20. Did Mahomes have an x-ray when he went in? He took that hit right on his shin.
  21. If we beat them twice in two non-home games they can say whatever the ***** they want. We’ll have earned it.
  22. They would have been the underdogs anyway.
