  1. I really can't believe people are lobbying to bring TO back. I shake my head and have to question ones football IQ when these crazy ideas are brought up and thrown around.
  2. Well imho stopping them wasn't going to happen, so the Giants score a TD and it's right back to the same situation, a tie game. What would a TD right then have really accomplished? The key to yesterday and that situation in particular was to shorten the game for the Giants offense. Sorry your to thick to see that.
  3. So the Bills score a TD on that play. Giants get the ball with 4 minutes left, then what?
  4. Nope. there is/was a huge difference between Jauronball and what the right playcalling should have been yesterday. Believe it or not, there are times in a game where allout is not the answer, and yesterday with 4 minutes to go at the Giants 27 was one of those times. So sorry you, and all your friends can't comprehend that.
  5. since everybody here is speculating, what if the Bills run the ball 3 times and gain a first down and then run the clock down and kick the FG to win? We never would have known because of one poor play call decision.
  6. sure it was. no need to try and score a td there. absolutly the wrong call.
  7. Really? You don't think the Giants would have marched right down the field on the Bills defense and scored with 4 minutes to do so? I do!
  8. BuffOrange, er Schopp is that you? Hmmm.......
  9. As I said in another thread, Fred had 6 other runs of 4+ yards and 2 of Smiths 4 runs produced were for 4+ yards. So he wasn't stuffed all game as you think. They should of run the ball right there and burned clock.
  10. Never got a chance to be sucessful in the second half. Out of 32 plays 9 were runs. Jackson was 6 for 14 yards and Smith was 3 for 8 yards. Total 9 for 22 yards. If a team can't play smash mouth and chew up at least a couple of minutes running the ball there is something seriously wrong. Instead of getting cute and trying some Tom Foolery on first down the right thing to do would have been to run the ball even if it only gained 9 yards given the circumstances.
  11. yep, i'm with you Simon. wrong time to call that play.
  12. Well Chan is a straight shooter and he doesnt seem to play favorites. If your not getting the job done changes are made pretty quick. He doesnt seem to wait too long before he shakes things up. I cant imagine Edwards ice flow is real thick at this point.
  13. You better check your facts then! 6 of Freddys other 15 carries went for 4 or more yards. So yes I do believe they should have tried to run the clock and get a first down and then get the FG to win the game. To think that passing there was not the right call especially on first down, that was not the time to play gunslinger football. Given the circumstances, time left, field position, score, and how awful the defense was playing, running time off the clock would have been the right decision. I like Chan and Fitz but the hard truth is they both brain farted there, period.
  14. Agreed! I love Chans and Fitz gunslinger approach, it's a breath of fresh air compared to dead dick. There are just times when that approach needs to put away and the proper play calling needs to take place, today for about 3 plays was one of those times. Again given the same scenario I don't know if any other coach in the league would have called the same play. If there was ever a time to be conservative, it was then!
  15. He can, but where did that get him today?
  16. Get a clue!, You don't throw it right there. What is so hard to comprehend about that. The same exact scenario except the score is 24-21 Giants what do you do? Still throw? The same exact scenario except the score is 24-21 Bills what do you do? Still throw? Since the defense can't ever stop anything is it really a smart move to try and trust the defense to win a game? I don't!
  17. Nope not at all. Had it worked, great. Still would have given the Giants 4 minutes to score. I don't like the Bills chances asking the defense to win a game.
  18. No we wouldn't have. Had that been completed for a TD the Giants still would have had 4 minutes, 2 time outs and the 2 minute warning to score a TD and tie the game. I dunno, what's the smarter move? Run clock and kick a FG or score a TD with 4 minutes left. I'm thinking most coaches are running the clock and kicking the FG, and escaping NY with a W on a day when the team didn't play really well.
  19. Nope! As soon as Fitz didn't hand it off to Fred I screamed WTF! Then he threw it and then I really went WTF! So no I didn't think that. Had he run time, kicked a FG, and escaped NY with a W, would have impressed me more than "gambling and losing". It would have shown me he can make the right calls at crunch time on the road in a tie game.
  20. I understand going for the win when you have the ball outside of field goal range and your down by a couple and there is like .30 secs to go. But right there you run clock kick the FG and give the Giants as little time to work with as possible. It really is that easy!
  21. Fred also had 6 runs of 4+ yards today, not many but he did have some. Who's to say they can't run the ball and get a first down, run the clock and kick the FG. Pass play right there was not the right call.
  22. 2.7 yards x 3 downs, hmmmm... 8.1 yards and you never know he might have gained 5 on one carry. Anywho, worse case, the ball is inside the 20 and a good FG and NY gets the ball back with under 2 minutes. I'll take the lead and give NY as little time as possible.
  23. I dunno, chances are better with a 3 point lead and less than 3 minutes to go than a tie game and the Giants 4 minutes to go. I'll take the lead and less time for the Giants.
