  1. Beane has said that the Bills are up against the cap. I highly doubt there are any more “big” moves outside of Dawkins being restructuted and possibly McGovern being extended. I think the Benford and Cook deals do not happen this year.
  2. JA is just one of the guys… very cool
  3. This^^^^ He is expressing contract expectations that outrun his style and capability of play. He is not a bell cow three down back.
  4. It is rather telling that during the drought years one of the most popular, and arguably best, player on the Bills was a punter. If you are consistently cheering the success of punts … you suck.
  5. This example points to the possibility that scheme and coaching have not worked in Buffalo. One data point but ……
  6. I really hope people enjoy this time with JA. It’s special and someday will come to a conclusion. I think about the drought years and how frustrating they all were. It’s just how the NFL works.
  7. These changes are far more important than we tend to give credit for. I just mentioned in another thread, look at what Kromer did for the O-line. They went from being a problem area to a source of team strength. The Bills have to figure out the front 7 of the D as they have been average, possibly even poor, in the playoffs under McDermott.
  8. Remember the ask is how are things so far? There is a lot of offseason left. Additionally, the focus is almost entirely on signings and not on coaching changes. Look at what Aaron Kromer has done for the o-line. The o-line before Kromer, like the Bills D-line now, was a sore subject and source of frustration.
  9. A third round pick for the production was a bust for the Bills. I get it that Cooper was injured but you can’t deny that the Bills came out on the wrong end of that deal overall. It’s also telling that nobody in the league is busting down the door to sign him. I understand that by all accounts Amari is a stand up and classy person. He just is not the talent that he once was on the football field. In the NFL time in combination with wear and tear is cruel.
  10. “Age or Aging” in NFL years is a real thing. Especially at speed / twitch positions, 30 seems to be a very magic number. Amari turned out to be a bust of a trade.
  11. The hype train and various opinions from talking heads are out there. What are your thoughts to a couple of very simple poll questions? Poll - names made available to facilitate discussion and debate. For me, the ped suspensions are huge as is Bosa’s health. Big if’s - the resignings so far make sense but I would love to see Benford locked up on a team friendly deal (seems less and less likely).
  12. I have become a big fan of of Locked on Bills with Joe Marino. He really helps to cut through “fan noise” about what is happening with the Bills.
  13. This^^^^ I hope he has an injury free and clean season. Hard to know because the injuries he has suffered are not necessarily pointing to age nabbing him. However, the NFL tends to wear out bodies. Beane has all but said shopping will be very limited. Hopefully the Bills are finding a path to getting a deal done with Benford.
  14. I am a mutt, no Irish that I know of but 1/4 Scottish (supposedly). Who knows how much of anything any of us is? People have fooled around since the dawn of time. For all I know maybe there was some green cheating in my lineage somewhere.
  15. This is an interesting thought because the Bills under Beane have not been prone to tag players. You are correct that’s Benford might possibly become an exception to this general trend.
  16. I love Neil Young because he is an everyman philosopher…. Old man lyrics ring so true now that I meet, or even exceed, the threshold of “old man.”
  17. I don’t see a holdout on the radar. Maybe he plays out his rookie deal and hits the open market. However, he has now had injuries. He will get a handsome guaranteed payment from the Bills. If I am him I take money in the bank vs the risk of no guarantee if I am seriously injured.
  18. The Bills still eat the cap impact even though the players do not get paid.
  19. “I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him,” he allegedly responded. You think?
  20. This^^^ Bills are just not going to put more money there. There is a much greater need at CB, especially since they don’t have Benford under extension yet.
  21. It looks more and more like the Bills will use their first three picks to land a mix (2 at one of the positions and 1 at the other) of DL & CB’s. Yes, there is always the BPA statement but it’s odd how it always works out that the BPA also fills an area of need.
