  1. Pretty short list for me

My first was a 1996 Geo Metro, which my parents paid ~6000$ brand new for in 1996.  It had a manual transmission and I'm pretty sure the same engine they were using in Suzuki Jetskis.  My girlfriend was going to school about 2 hours away (I was at Fredonia and she was at Geneseo) and it took me way too long to figure out that I was getting pulled over an inordinate amount on the thruway.  I think cops probably realized how unsafe it was at high speeds (in the low 70s it would shake like a riding lawnmower) or possibly I was just a dumb kid driving too fast.

I used it to get to work and school until ~2002 when I moved to NYC and sold it to a neighbor (I heard the axel snapped while he was driving not too long after.)

When we moved to NJ in 2006 we bought a VW Jetta.

    2012 Honda CRV

    2019 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid

    2022 Hyundai Kona Electric

This is really interesting - teams seem to have finally figured out a way to better gauge one of the most important qb traits - reading and responding to information quickly (which is obviously one of the most important things a QB must do.)

He couldn’t give out Purdy’s exact score because it’s privileged information but said it was in the “mid 90s.” That’s about where Brees, the former Saints quarterback famous for lightning-fast decision-making, scored and where two of the top passers in the league now, the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and the Bills’ Josh Allen, also landed.

  4. Let's see, I joined in 2008

in August of that year I was hired as an employee at my current company (had been a consultant, most consultants were let go at the beginning of the crash that year with the rest of us hired as FTEs.) I started in 2005 answering phones for the guy who ran our department, I now run that department.

    I got sober

Still married to the same wonderful lady (celebrated our 17th anniversary last month)

Had 2 kids, both boys, the oldest now goes to games with me

Have traveled to Mexico, Brazil, India, Iceland (amongst other places)

in 2008 we were living in a rented apartment in Jersey City, NJ, we bought a place at end of 2009.  We sold it in the fall of 2020 and moved to Central NY.

Became a season ticket holder in 2021

After 25 years of playing drums in bands, I started making and releasing my own music in 2019, and am currently putting the finishing touched on my 6th record.

Bills have been bad here for awhile.

I would say it's been more an indication of the team being too good for UDFAs to make it.  They've been good at drafting, not bad at finding UDFAs.

  6. I haven't been following specific players closely enough, but as far as a position I'd really like them to fill - Mitch Morse's replacement.  As far as I'm concerned he is on borrowed time, and I do NOT want to see a half season of Greg Mancz or Rick Bates at Center.

I'm not understanding why a 2nd round pick in his 5th year, just entering his prime, would sign with a team that's already set at its two starting safety positions.

IMO looking at the age and history of our safeties he thinks A. there's a good shot to get on the field, and B. given our defensive coaching staff he thinks he's gonna have a chance to shine and make some coin next year.

Except the city and county in Chicago aren't building the  stadium in the suburbs-- the Bears are paying for it.

    Otherwise identical!!

I find it hard to believe the Bears are really going to pay almost $100 million to break their lease AND on top of that pay entirely for the cost of a new stadium, but we'll see.

There isn't an OC on the planet who can scheme positive plays when the receiver drops the ball.

Absolutely true, but there are OCs who are scheming the passing games to create more easy throws / catches (which inherently should improve our drop rate.)

  10. I also remember at the beginning of the year we heard a lot about the short game and then in the first game or 2 (and maybe in preseason too?) we saw a lot of batted passes - maybe they thought that was too big of a risk with the shorter throws?  Still, other teams manage it and get it working for them.

  11. I do think they need to figure out why the short / intermediate passing game didn't work this year.  I agree that at times it seems like guys were getting open - were they not where Allen expected them to be, did he not trust them to catch the ball, was he not seeing them, or was he just hell bent on going down the field?

Someone who was at the game told me they had 12 men on the field. I’d actually rather take that 5 yard penalty (they stop the play, it’s not free) rather than take the timeout. Timeouts are far more valuable, especially in the 2nd half when you’re trailing.

I went back and checked the broadcast this morning - it was a little hard to see a great angle, but I don't think there were 12 men on there.

  13. That defensive timeout yesterday was a COMPLETE momentum killer.  I was in the stadium, it was by far the loudest it had been all day (if I remember correctly they had just had a false start penalty) and as soon as he called TO the air was just sucked out of the place.

For a team that relies so much on analytics, has anyone looked to see how often our Defense is successful after a defensive TO, because to me it seems like the track record is close to 0%.  That happened early enough yesterday where it felt like we still had time to recover, but after they got it and scored, the game honestly just felt over.
