  1. But FoxSnooze has never been one to just disagree with people themselves; they demonize anyone and virtually everyone to hell and gone. The administration's biggest problem there is stooping to Fox's level.

And a point of note: as a believer that the economy does whatever the hell it wants with no regard to White House, I refuse to blame any of it on Obama. And the "stalling" on Afghanistan, I refuse to believe is a bad thing, give how naively idealistic their policy there has been.

I disagree. If the gov't were to lower income taxes and corporate taxes by 80% and deregulate a bunch of stuff to make it appealing to manufacturing you would see a boon in the economy short-term and long-term.

The facts are we lost manufacturing because of law changes in regulation, taxation, and not being manufacturing friendly with our laws that can be directly related to the gov't. People go to China for a reason and the #1 reason is not taxes, it's regulation.

  2. Alpha and Pdaddy,

He was averaging around 220 yards, a rating over 92, for his first 6 games and he made some plays down the field. To say certain teams are bad that he played forgets that every QB plays crappy teams as well.

If that's not good to you what would you consider most of Jim Kelly's career:

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KellJi00.htm

No, I'm not comparing him to Kelly as they are different QBs, but if you want more production just sign Peyton Manning, as he is readily available.

My point is he was playing decent and even the talking heads mentioned him in the MVP breath. If you don't want to acknowledge facts that's fine, but don't pretend they don't exist.

He has regressed and it's horrible to the team, and he played like an NFL QB last year, and this year he's playing like he belongs to the UFL.

  3. God why are people so in love with Jeff Garcia. He is a journeyman QB. He couldn't even make the Raiders squad.

Wrong, he asked to be cut when they wanted to start Russell over him and got his wish. Russell didn't win his spot.

I will give you this though, the guy is always hurt if he plays over 4 games.

  4. This is my first post here. I usually post on the other message board. I'm not sure what to think about Fitzpatrick at the moment. The guy is 26 years old with only 15 starts. Edwards has around 29 starts I think. So there is still some upside. If he could just work on his accuracy he could be a good QB. When I saw him catch the Jets with too many men on the field with a quick snap I thought I was watching Manning. He is also willing to throw into double coverage. There was an article saying how he was changing to plays that wasn't even in the gameplan. That is amazing seeing as how this is his first year with the team and Edwards 3rd year with the team. Shouldn't Edwards do that? Anyways I don't know what to think because he is still young. Some people act like he has been in this league for 10+ years and hasn't done a thing. Some times all it takes is luck to find that QB. Fitz looks like he wants to win, and with him in the game the energy of the offense was different with him in.

Fitz and Edwards are about the same age, so that shouldn't go in the comparison. Otherwise good post. I just can't blame the "young" thing anymore.

  5. What makes his drops "amazingly juvenile"?

He's not focused on the game and constantly going through the motions like a 6 year old forced to play. Watch Fitz's last throw to him when he wasn't even looking. The last throw wasn't a drop as much as T.O wasn't ready to look at the QB.

One drop a game is a lot and maybe one drop every 2 games is ok if you are making plays. This guy is dropped 2 passes to him a game which is killing drives.

  6. Keeping Josh Reed over Roscoe is the dumbest move of all time. For an offense that can't seem to make any big plays and is not willing to try Parrish as the slot receiver blows my mind! Releasing Langston, Dockery were pitiful reminders that they seem to have no idea on what it takes to build a championship football team. Trading Peters was a necessary evil even though I would have liked that trade to include Winston Justice instead of that third round pick. These are just a few of my complaints...More to come when I feel like blowing off some more steam.

Reed's been our best guy to rely on to catch the ball and get open underneath. You want to replace with Roscoe at WR? Seriously, you are insane. Reed has been the biggest shining light in the receiving core this year and we want to throw him out.

The only reason we don't use him more is to make the $12 mil we have in Evans and T.O happy. He could consistently produce 5 catches a game for 45-60 yards in this offense. He's finally matured and I wish it was 5 years ago. Oh well.

  7. Maybe with Fitz giving him more balls he might step up, but after watching him drop so many passes this year he's probably in the top 3 for reasons we don't convert 3rd downs. I saw that Fitz lost confidence in him after the 2nd drop and the other time he wasn't even looking for the ball.

Listen, I think he's a world-beater and a team-beater when he is drop mode. This team relies too much on small chunks rather than chunking the field for 20-25 yard gains that make a big difference that T.O can provide. Every pass is critical when you need to convert 3rd to play Dick ball.

I really wish we traded him to the Bears for a pick and we played Steve Johnson who is a perfect fit for the dink offense we play. Also, this season is a wash so watching him or Hardy develop is a big need for next season, moreso that making T.O happy.

  8. How about taking Maybin instead of Ayers in the draft. At least at 274 Ayers could play in a 4-3 scheme although 11 may have been too early to take him.

Ayers has not looked that good at all. Orakpo has been playing well for a rookie. I saw Orakpo play in college and wasn't that impressed... he was more of a high-motor work-out warrior, but he's also athletic and coachable enough to succeed.

  9. When people like Pdaddy and others say Edwards didn't regress you haven't been watching the first 6 games of the year in 2008. He was averaging around 240 yards, a rating over 92, and he made some plays down the field, sometimes at key points (Jax game, Raiders game) when we were behind. He was playing good enough that people in the league looked at him as a potential MVP candidate as crazy as that sounds right now.

If that's not regression and he showed nothing this conversation would be over.

My biggest disappointment has been the destruction of a young QB in Edwards, the regression of ST, and how Dick is still the coach.

  10. You're post was kindof mind boggling. You made some pronouncements as facts that plain aren't. I refuted them. And, you did ask "What game in the NFL isn't really close anymore?" by the way. I cited a few. Looking back at the results of last weeks games, of the 14 played, 7 were decided by 10 points or more. So evidently a lot aren't.

So Fitz' stats weren't great. So what. I saw a lot of positive signs showing the kid may be able to run this offense better than Trent. Trent was sacked once in 1 quarter and Fitz 0 in 3 quarters. When was the last game Trent went 3 quarters without a sack? That tells me something there. He also tried to make plays out of nothing like the pass to ML that ML didn't go after quick enough to catch. On the TD to Evans the jets blitzed and he took a 3 step drop and threw the ball. No standing around looking looking looking and then getting sacked or running around desperately looking for RB to throw to. He also threw a great ball to Lee that he allegedly "bobbled". Not Ryan's fault. Yeah 10 for 25 may not be good, but he did some good things too.

Since you know so much about backups, you should know that in the NFL the backup QB is lucky to get 5 reps a day with the starters. Give him a week to work and then we'll see what happens.

Whose saying Fitz is the answer anyway? I don't understand this negative nancy attitude that everything sucks. Bills got problems for sure. But we're not as bad as some of yall make it out to be. Sometime I wonder what games you're watching.

I for one did not SEE MARK SANCHEZ GIVE THE BILLS THE GAME last week? He played bad yes, but so did Fitz you say. In fact, you say he played "awful". How come we didn't give the game to them? We made some plays when they counted. They didn't. Our pass defense was very good. Those picks weren't' total gifts. I saw Edwards try to take one away from Byrd but he out muscled him for it. At least part of Sanchez' bad play was brought on by the Bills playing good pass defense.

I was going to write something, but all I can say now is "what he said"... good post...

I want to give Fitz a week or 2, sounds crazy since we give other QBs YEARS, and I want to see how we react to the Panthers running game. Our LBs suck right now.

The match-up on paper is close.

  11. You are going to disagree... BUT one still has to consider where the power lies and what is considered the main paradigm controlling matters. There can't be racism as we know it without having the controlling power.

Yes... You can call it a double standard. I consider it a one-way street and I find nothing wrong with it at this time. Of course things are changing with the election of a minority president.

Racism is linked to power in any way. That was a spin put on by Jesse Jackson to defer reality. White men have the least amount of protected rights by the gov't and so now does that mean only minorities and females are racist and sexist?

Racism is an overt prejudice against a race without basis for discrimination. I'm not a racist for refusing to vacation in Harlem because there is a basis for my act, and I would be the one without power in that situation. Of course they would be happy to see me and any acts they would do, even when they are the majority with power, wouldn't be racist. You are a moron.

I'm sorry, but the day is coming and now here where to be called a racist is almost a good thing. Notice I said ALMOST because it means you are willing to say things without political correctness according to reality, which is now a racist act, unless you are not white and then everything is on the table.

    TYPICAL FAKE RACIST CRAP

-Whites do better than blacks and hispanics on tests... typical answer for this "racism" is that whites make the tests (racist tests) So why do Asians do better than whites?

-Blacks have a higher percentage of professional basketball players, which is not racist based on fact, but say whites have a higher percentage of people paying their bills and it becomes racist all of a sudden.

Facts are racism is a label used to demonize people. If someone calls me a racist I don't even care anymore. Keep calling people racists idiots, you are doing exactly what I hoped would happen, namely, that the label is going to be worthless and long-term will hurt you when a real racist should be stopped.

  12. Ha! This might be the best QB class to come out of college in a long time. Just because ESPN, Fox Sports, etc have analyzed these guys to death, it doesn't mean these guys won't be good.

I would take Tebow, Bradford, Clausen, Locker, or McCoy any day. This is the pick the Bills need to make. We can sign some free agents and make trades in the offseason to bring in d-line and o-line talent.

I'll take Pike over all those guys, bad forearm and all. Plays in the cold, big arm, athletic, no WRs and makes plays. Pike will be available in the 2nd and 3rd. He's a lot like Flacco or Schaub but more athletic and more raw than Flacco, but just as high of an upside.

  13. I don't care what anyone says... that was a catch. He caught the ball on his fingertips. How is he supposed to pull it into his body and take his right hand off the ball to brace for the hit? He has to move the ball. But, at no time did he bobble or lose control of the ball. It hit his fingertips and he pulled the ball into his chest with one hand. It's physically impossible to do that without moving the ball.

The question was did he at any time lose control? No. His left hand remained on the ball the entire time as he was pulling it in. It was a great catch.

I suspect when Rexie gave the refs a few bills earlier in the game to get the mysterious too many men on the field, when no flag was thrown penalty; he slipped a few extra in the ref's pocket for later in the game.

Speaking of that crap penalty. OK, so maybe the Bills had too many men on the field. I don't know, they never showed a replay. But, no flag was thrown. So, why didn't Rex have to throw a challenge flag to get the refs to make the call? It looked like he called them over, slipped some cash in their pocket, and they made a call. Did anyone actually see a flag?

I agree with everything you said. A booble is loss of control. I don't see loss of control that is incontrovertible.

Next, did the ball really hit Josh Reed? I couldn't hear the game.

  14. I agree. We have seen Trent complete an impressive number of unimpressive passes in a row.

How many points did his 5/5 and 43 yards put on the board again?

Well let's take what he accomplished and put it in perspective. We had 3 points and it was the 2nd quarter. So he would have about 130-160 yards and 10-13 points. That's if he was 20/20 of course.

Trent's no longer a NFL QB. He could be again, maybe on this team with a new coach, or another team with a fresh start. Yes, Fitz played better with worse stat lines. You can't see a stat line, you have to watch the game.

  15. This is based off of today's starting QBs. JMO after glancing down the scores for the NFL.

Clearly better than trent - Mannging x's 2, Favre, Brees, Mcnabb, Rothelisberger, Rodgers, Palmer, Schaub, Flacco, Brady, Warner, Cutler, Ryan, Rivers

about the same (in terms of current ability - not upside or past skills) - Cassel (dont argue he hasn't done crap without Belli), Orton, Hassleback (shades of his former self), Garrard, bulger (see hassleback), collins (last year was overblown, look at his numbers).

clearly worse - russell, stafford, josh johnson, campbell, delhomme, anderson/quinn fiasco, sanchez, and whoever the phins are starting

does this translate to more wins? probably not with the current staff. Orton is doing wonders with a better coach and has far greater limits than TE.

my point is this. 1.) anyone on here arguing for Fitz needs to look at his career numbers. He is NOT good. Even TE's best games aren't great, but Fitz's are horrible. Read Sulli's last article 2.) With a new coaching staff trent can actually get the chance to throw the slant and plays that focus on the middle of the field 3.) Hope he can man the fort until we DRAFT a good qb... Fitz, Garcia, Quinn are NOT the answer

Obviously you did not watch us play the Fins, or the Fins game against the Jets where Henne played strongly.

The problem isn't the physical attributes, it's the mental. Edwards has regressed so far mentally on this team he isn't as good as Delhomme or Stafford from your list (Stafford played on a bum knee this week and was noticeably limping before and after the game).

Now with the concussion his head might not be in the game at all. Did you notice Trent had pocket awareness at one time and not getting sacked? He's a sack machine.

Lastly, you cannot go by career numbers of anyone except if they are overwhelmingly positive. QBs can and do evolve for better or worse more so than any position. Guys like Warner, Delhomme, Gannon, Garcia, et al. looked much worse in their beginnings than when they matured. Am I saying Fitz is the answer? That would be lunacy, but to assume that he can't play better because of past numbers is not a mature explanation. It would be like comparing Delhomme's career numbers to the interception machine he is this year.

Trent needs a new coach and a new team. Jauron isn't doing him any favors. He's definitely a talented guy, but he's bell has been rung twice now (very bad precursor) and he isn't playing an NFL game as a QB.

Let me ask you this, when was the last time you've seen Trent throw the ball 10-15 yards on a pattern over the guys shoulder than isn't a bomb? NFL QBs do it all the time, you know, the pass where only the WR can catch where they get slightly ahead of the DB. Trent either throws it on a rope or a bomb. He's lacking the entire game, and I believe it's mental and this isn't the team for him to grow into it unless we dump the Dick today.
