  1. Is he batshit crazy, or is Kevin Gilbride the only coach who will work for him? I realize that those two things are not mutually exclusive, but it's fun to try and justify Al Davis' moves when in reality I'm just happy that at least we don't have that franchise.

Right, let's all pretend that we are soooo much better off and our owner is much less crazy than Al Davis.....ha! There's not a whole lot of difference between the owners.

  2. Keyshawn brought up Buffalo because he was just making reference to Boom's favorite team - obviously the Bills and then Keyshawn corrected himself...I think he said something like, "Boom we can see from your favorite team, uhm...I mean one of your favorite 31 teams....." then he was talking about how unfair the criticism was on McNabb and how good he is - then he said Buffalo would take him - he just got done referencing the Bills to Berman that's why he made the comment I'm guessing.

But hells yeah, McNabb on the Bills - great post about the past quarterbacks and what they were traded for, I would give Philly a third this year and a third next, 2nd round picks (day one picks) are way too valuable.

  3. Fassell went 21-27 in the three years after the Giants went to the Superbowl. Two playoff wins in 7 years. One 12-4 season, two 10-6 seasons, one 8-8 season, two 7-9 seasons and the last season went 4-12.

They need to find a bright young energetic NFL mind to inject life into this lifeless body known as the Buffalo Bills.

I couldn't agree more, all his records show is that he can win with someone else's team - and he doesn't have the ability to build a team of his own, hence why the decline in record as the years wore on.

  4. As badly as I want a REAL head coach (we shold have hired Sherman 3 years ago) let's be honest with ourselves.....If Dicky J. is let go...they're probably going to bring in Dom Capers or Fassell or someone equally as boring and incompetent. Sorry for everyone who likes Fassell.

For everyone who says that sideline emotion doesn't matter, have you noticed how the Steelers play? Put a guy like Jauron in there and they'd be boring within two years....oh wait, the Steelers wouldn't hire a shoddy head coach like Dick Jauron.

Why can't we get someone like Les Miles.....ya know what, I'd rather have the Bucs DB's coach than anyone on the list at the beginning of this thread (aside from a few). In the end when (not if but when) Jauron is fired, this year or next, management will bring in a coach who is just as dull on the field and with their coaching techniques as our past three. Mularkey, Williams and Jauron all had one thing in common - they can talk. Not to players but to Wilson and the GM, making them believe they will turn things around and they have a solid system. Ralph falls too hard for the verbal guarantees - I know this because if he took actual results shown on the field we never would have had our last 3 coaches, or Rob Johnson......ok I'll end there.

  5. I don't disagree with your opinion about Bobby April being highly respected but imagine the reaction that would get. "Ralph is so cheap," "We hired a special teams coach with no experience," and so forth..

I actually am surprised this hasn't been mentioned more often, I can definitely see this happening and is something I would be all for! When Levy came in what was he? He was a cheap replacement from KC - someone who had basically no success and inexpensive....that seemed to work out.

  6. I think we can get a better back up lineman than Chambers - even an athletic rookie would be better in my opinion. I think if you offer Crowell a decent 1 year salary he would take it, it's like his free agent year all over again for him and he gets to sort of right the ship with the hit his reputation may have taken in some circles.

I like your post, only other comment would be that as much as I would like to keep Greer I don't think we will. We have Mckelvin and Corner and Yubouty as the nickel - but who knows.

  7. Another 70 yd gash up the middle - where is the MLB on those plays??? Poz seemed invisible the whole day - hardly remember seeing him in on a play...

It was a little better today - but it is very disconcerting to keep seeing QBs leave the pocket and have the whole side of the field completely open - amazing to me the horrible job the DEs are doing on contain...

I did noticed Poz on one play, when Thigpen got out of the pocket on a roll out, Thigpen out ran Poz....a 3rd string QB of Thigpen's speed shouldn't be able to out run our MLB.

  8. The Bills will continue to lose games when they force any young QB to carry the team

Good rebuttal, couldn't agree more. Obviously JP's pocket prescense leaves something to be desired - I'm not a huge fan but you're right who's to say he wouldn't have developed but I'm just saying he hasn't and he won't. Not with this team anyway.

  9. Remember, Crowell comes back next year and our LB crew is immediately upgraded.

Crowell will not be in a Bills uniform next year. He is an unrestricted free agent after this year and there is just no way the Bills resign him. With our luck he'll go to a team like Miami and kill us for the next 4 years.

On a brighter note - yeah Schoebel makes a lot of money, look at our sack numbers with him in and without him. The man has gotten quite a lot of sacks over the last 4 years and seeing how everyone here is a football genuis you should all know that when Aaron is in, he gets double teamed, that means freeing up open blitzers or the D tackles to make plays in the backfield. Yeah he hasn't had great numbers this year when he has been in, but the rest of the D-line had MUCH better numbers. Do you guys watch these games, like seriously?? Ellis is awful and way undersized, Denney and Kelsay have got to go. Schoebel stays - we are -10 in turnovers when he is out, and even when he is in....pressure on the QB creates turnovers....we NEED Schoebel.

Peters is fine, he will get back to form. I like 3/5's of our O-line. We need a better right tackle (although Butler played well on Sunday) and a new Center - Preston got blown up by Rogers.

Defensively we also need another LB and a new Free Safety, DE is obvious. Offensively we have good WR's they just need time and we have all the pieces needed there - patience my friends, patience.

  10. Jp has not been consistant. He also had no consistency around him from either the team or coaching. When he leaves next year you may be right but the odds are just as great you will be wrong. Trent thus far has shown no more consistency than JP. Wait I take that back. In their careers JP has consistently improved while Trent has consistently gotten WORSE.

JP has consistently improved?? That's just rediculous. Trent has played just barely one full season, JP had four years. Granted his coaches were not that great, JP is awful though. You are blinded by the glamour of the backup QB.

  11. -On the bring side he has the tools and the mental game to regroup and turn it around. Let's hope that our brilliant coaching staff can help him. He has played pretty well in 3 or 4 games this year when we weren't running the ball and carried the offense.

He will be fine. Remember how bad Favre, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, John Elway (I think I've made my point) were when they first came into the league? Eli wasn't good until last year, now he's quite good. Quit calling for JP and have some patience. Edwards is still better than any QB (aside from Flutie) we've had since Kelly - so everyone simma down now.

  12. Good post, I live in Florida now but when I lived in WNY I was there to see Cunningham elude Bruce Smith and throw a bomb down the field, the trouncing the Bills put on the Raiders in the playoffs and even the AFC championship game against the Broncos (I remember watching the KC game on tv the week before and my mom dropped the tickets in my lap when the clock hit triple zero's)...

So I hear ya, one thing I noticed when I was there in '05 against the Chiefs - it's still the same, the fans are still as into it as they were during the glory days. Like the product or not, I'm not goin anywhere.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

  13. I sincerely hope Losman never takes another snap in a Buffalo uniform....the only good thing that would come out of it would be to prove to the Losman lover once and for all that he wasn't worth the first round pick....of course I can see them then blaming the line and the receivers and the coaching.....oh wait.....maybe it didn't occur that these are the issues holding TE back as well....

Trent is the quaterback....that's not going to change. Period. I hope.....I will sincerely give up on this staff if they switch to Losman.

  14. Joe Buck has a nice voice but he has the power to make even the most exciting game sound boring. He always sounds like he doesn't give a sh*t about what's happening on the field. That applies to both football and baseball.

I'm interested though, what's your issue with Costas?

Ya know I watched him and Morgan do the '99 series between the Braves and Yanks I think, and he just had this holier than though attitude, he just seems smug to me. I guess I don't have one real thing I just am not a fan at all.

  15. Are they wusses as a by product of the head coach? I know there was a post all about how the team takes on the character of the coach - but I would have to agree with Steely Dan in the sense that they are still a young team, I believe our expectations were a bit inflated with the 5-1 record.

I know that if you told me at week 1 we'd be 5-3 halfway through, I'd take that - regardless of whether or not two of our losses came at the expense of the Jets and Dolphins.

Come down off the ledge - or maybe I've just become complacent with mediocrity. Time shall tell.

  16. we need to take him out and swich the line back to where we were while he was holding out they were awsome when he came back it went to sh--

Easy on that - remember we played Seattle with a makeshift line. I don't mind Walker on the left side, but with our injuries that still leaves us with Whittle on the right side and....well, no one to fill in for Walker.

  17. Joe Buck....are you kidding me??? Wow, I absolutely hate that guy. I'd take Mike Tarico any day - I think he's pretty good always fluid and doesn't add absolutely retarded comments like Buck.

Of course this is only my opinion and coming from a guy who's favorite announcer of all time is Gary Thorne - the guy is awesome in hockey and baseball, don't think he does football but I bet he could.

But really?? Joe Buck??? The best Ever? I put him right there with Bob Costas as number 1 and 1A as worst ever.
