Mayock's response to a fan on how good a player Wood would be and comment on Levitre. I have always respected Mike's opinion on college players coming into the NFL.

"Wood was my favorite center in the country last year coming out of Louisville. The Bills have turned him into a guard and done a tremendous job. I definitely think he has pro bowl potential. but don't forget about his teammate Andy Levitre, the second round pick who was a left tackle in college and the Bills kicked him inside to guard. The Bills probably have the best pair of young guards in the NFL."

Very encouraging. However, I think you posted this in the wrong forum. This place is only for negative bills bashing.

  2. never ceases to amaze me how some people read a blurb or a stat line and start whining about how this means we should have taken X and not Y; that X was the better fit for our scheme and Y is a bust.

What amazes me is how fast this happens. Rookies are now being declared busts in the preseason. Incredible.

  3. I did not want 'rak. He actually reminds me of David Boston if that makes sense. Tight muscles that look like they are ready to pop- I see him struggling with injures throughout his career.

I still like the Maybin pick- he is more of a natural athlete, with much more upside in my opinion. I guess we will all see in a couple of years. If you go back and look even the maybin supporters, like myself, said that rak would start out faster than Maybin. He is more NFL ready, and a couple of years older- this is not some big surprise.

One more point. I'm reading a lot that we could not afford to take a "project player," only good teams could do that. Then I read that we don't draft like the good teams. Well which is it? We need to draft different than good teams, or more like them? Just because we have screwed up in the past doesn't mean that we are not going in the right direction now. I actually like our player/personnel moves, since marv left.

  4. Damn you T.O.!!!!

We were so good with Steve Johnson, then you came in here with a lousy 14 years of HOF offensive performing, and somehow but Steve Johnson down the depth chart!!!!

Now we might end our streak of playoff runs, all because you came here with your losing attitude and drove us into the ground!! Steve Johnson had the whole thing turned around, and then you came, all for marketing!! How many times have you been to the playoffs? Oh...well, you still are no Steve Johnson!!!!

Oh, and as for you Hardy...you're no Steve Johnson, but you are certainly better than T.O.!! We miss you from the '08 Juggernaut!! Stupid T.O.!!

Great Post <_< This place is incredible, I think I need a little break. Coming here and reading some of these posts is sucking the life out of me. I can't imagine being so miserable all the time. If I ever felt this way I would do something else, that I enjoyed. Life is too short. I follow the bills because I enjoy it and I have hope, not to say "I told you so and so sucks."

  5. And she is..?

    And her opinion matters because..?

Sorry for posting a supermodel talking about football, and one of our own players. My fault.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program- Jauron would make a good mortician. haha

  6. Get off your soapbox, please. You're the one making wild assumptions. Not me. I merely know that many people who vote right wing do so not understanding who created and maintain their own economic limitations, or they don't care enough about that to force them to vote with the "colored folks", because they believe them to be the same lazy, not-working thieves that YOU just painted them to be (and who RUSH paints them to be every single day).

It's amazing that you call ME "elitist" in the same breath as you make the assumption that I am a welfare hog.

Yep. Get them to vote against their own economic self interests in the name of stem cell research, or gay rights. Brilliant.

  7. K some thoughts about the UFL. I live in vegas so I was at the game. The gameplay was surprisingly good. I paid 30 bucks to be on the 35 yardline in row 2 to the field. there was 15000 people there(Sam Boyd Stadium holds about 35,000). The players were turning around and acknowledging the fans and coming over after big plays and high fiving fans. This to me was the most impressive thing about the UFL they have this "it's all about U theme for the fans", refeshing considering nfl players hardly give you the time of day. Losman looked pretty good after the 1st quarter. Is Gabe Long an ex Buffalo Bill? and there was a sports center worthy hit in the final quarter on a California kickoff return. Las vegas player # 23 Sumrall was his name i think just crushed the California return man. He came to the sideline all amped up after giving the guy a snotbubble. He was standing on the sideline and since I was right there I yelled "hey Summrall,, duh na na duh na na" and he smiled and and came over and high fived me. also final note Las vegas has a tight end that should be on an Nfl roster # 87 forget his name but he abused California's secondary............best part was after the game the Loco's players came over and talked with everyone thanking them for coming to the game. To me the best part.

Sounds pretty cool. The TV broadcast was good too because they had the coaches miked up, and even brought the cameras into the locker room. It was neat to get a inside look.
