  1. The decrease in church attendance has nothing to do with the Bills/NFL being on at 1:00 EST. The US has steadily modernized while the teachings of many churches have remained centuries out of date. I think the nation, in turn, is becoming more agnostic than Christian for instance. People claim they're spiritual, without being religious, which is perfectly fine IMO. I try and go to church throughout the year/season and the majority of people at my church in the area are immigrants or older Americans...while the world is changing, many churches aren't adjusting. I think this causes the empty seats and the sadness your friend references.

I usually like going in the fall in particular because I can say a prayer for the Bills!

  2. I agree, this is the best they could get and it's not a BAD deal. It's an okay deal. A good negotiation is one which leaves both parties little bit disappointed, and it seems like that's what this is.

Although, I'm not sure we take an LT at 11...I still see us trading to the teens or going DE at 11. Regardless, I know nothing and this will be an interesting draft day!

  3. I got a tour of the stadium yesterday and it's going to be pretty ridiculous. I can imagine that Dallas is going to be larger than life (and ostentatious), but the new Meadowlands looks like it's going to be pretty impressive while staying tasteful. 4 giant HD screens in each corner of middle bowl, LED surrounding lower bowl, nice suites, seats on the field level behind home bench. A lot of it makes sense because the League, being in NY, uses the stadium to host. It cost $1.6B and had no state funding from what I understand.

Anyways, it made me realize how unique the Ralph is. While it's a little outdated, RWS really is like a college football atmosphere. I wouldn't trade it for anything at this point. While it would be unbelievable to have a stadium like that in the downtown Buffalo area, but I think it's incredibly unrealistic in the foreseeable future.

Procrastinating at work on this Friday morning, so I thought I'd share. Go Bills.

  4. In terms of marketing radius, the Jets have the right to market their team anywhere in NY as long as it's not within 75 miles of Ralph Wilson Stadium. While Syracuse is generally considered a 'Bills market', the Giants/Jets can technically market/hold their camp there. No League or Team rules against it. The Bills might not like it, but they also market the Bills in parts of PA and OH.

  5. I have to disagree. A friend of mine works for Reebok's licensing group, and she said the 8 teams are producing loads of new merchandise/apparel now and that she's seen all the 'Boston Patriots' stuff. I think the league will make an exception to uniform rules this year with the anniversaries. Out current blue throwbacks were released in the summer of 2004, and new white one's will likely be released this summer for sale.

There's no way we'll be wearing white throwbacks. I'm pretty sure each team has one home, one away, and one throwback jersey available to use. Not to mention, a white throwback was not part of the marketing campaign that's been rocking for the past four years or so.

If a white jersey were an option, trust me, Buffalo would be selling white jerseys to the public.

  6. I wonder which jersey's they will wear? Pats' throwbacks are red and Bills' are blue, but does one team need to be in white?

If the Bills make a new throwback, all white jerseys with the white pants and standing Buffalo helmet would surely guarantee victory. And I would surely buy one.

  7. Agreed. I thought his interview with the meeting today was a great first step. Now, go out there and play football.

Already did......obviously had poor judgment but overall he did not harm anyone sitting in a car. It was probably a very good wake up call to him. He is a fun-loving good mannered guy by all accounts and hopefully he channels that to better off the field endeavors. Lots of guys have done dumb things and let's hope he learns.

I hope he gets involved in the community, does a lot of charity things etc....it does not take much for this community to forgive and really embrace its athletes.

  8. "BILLS FANS GOING BONKOS FOR CUTLER

Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2009, 10:39 a.m. EDT

    First T.O., now J.C.?

The rumor of agent Bus Cook being in Buffalo on Monday has prompted Bills fans to collectively hyperventilate regarding the possibility of a trade of Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler for Bills quarterback Trent Edwards.

It all started during Brad Riter’s WECK radio show on Monday, with former Bills offensive lineman Ruben Brown linking Cook’s presence in Buffalo to a possible passer-for-passer trade.

The audio can be heard at Brad’s site, in segment two of the Ruben Brown spot.

If this one isn’t accurate, the Bills need to say so quickly, before it takes on a life of its own."

We (Bills fans) are beginning to annoy me...I seriously doubt anything more than Scheffler 'talk' is going on.

  9. I went to McFaddens during the actual draft, rounds 1 and 2, but I think the deal runs for both days...tons of Bills fans. Visit the NYC Buffalo Bills Backers website closer to draft day and they will have more details.

From what I've heard on draft, is that it is essentially a free for all. Some people show up the night before to wait in line and are then given a bracelet so they can leave the line and come back. I do know that seating is General Admission, but not sure on any other details around the ticketing process. Someone else can prob help you out with more info that has been before.

Random question, but I don't suppose your name is Mike Reagan is it?

Are you talking about going to McFaddens before, during, or after the draft?
  10. I can get some more info and keep you posted. I do know the tickets are free and first come, first serve. I'll be at the draft this year also...

You should definitely make a pit stop at McFaddens on Saturday, which is an easy walk to Radio City. It's a blast on draft day (something like $25 all the wings and beer you can handle).
