Sabres still alive!

Recommended Posts

whoa, the Sabres might actually control their own destiny into the playoffs. The Bruins and the Flyers both have 91 pts and had to lose and they both did! Sabres have 2 more games against the Habs and Bruins, and have to win both...

They are far from controlling their own destiny - they still need a lot of help...

From one of the threads over on Sabre Space (I am not verifying the exact accuracy of this post, but looking at it quickly it looks to be about right, so take it FWIW):

Thank you New Jersey and Pittsburgh!!!

Here's the current playoff scenario:

To make the playoffs, the Sabres have to win their final 2 games and then have 2 of the following 3 things happen:

1. BOS loses their final 2 games in regulation - OTT and BUF

2. PHI loses their final 2 games (1 can be in OT) - NJ and PIT

3. WAS loses their final 2 games (1 could be in OT) - TB and FLA

The faint ray of light is a little brighter than it was a few days ago. Time to get the Habs back for the 3rd period meltdown and keep the season alive for one more day. A Sabres win on Thursday would keep things alive until at least Friday.

Broonz lost in a shootout. Add a point to their total.

Yes they have 92 points, but Buffalo has the tie breaker over them. The way the "Broonz" play though, they'll probably tie Ottawa tomorrow anyway. They have 7 ties in the month of March, they have replaced the NJ Devils as the most boring team to watch....

Not surprising, seeing as their new coach is the Devils former coach. Good God is that boring hockey!
