Controlling our own destiny after next week

I know...another playoff thread. But I hadn't seen it pointed out yet that we could control our own destiny after NEXT week if the stars align just right, so thought it deserved to be highlighted :nana:

Assuming the info below from another post is accurate, this is what gets us in the drivers seat after next week (of couse, after beating Tenn):

If Jets lose to Miami, Jax loses to NE, and Cinci loses tomorrow at Indy and next week at Denver, all we need in the last week is a win against Baltimore. Could this be correct?

So a bunch has unfolded since this scenario was first laid out, including the Chiefs losing to SD a few minutes ago.

Now it seems we need:

NYJ loss to MIA AND

2 of the following 3 things:

-1 JAX loss (NE, @KC)

-2 DEN losses (or the KC tiebreaker thing?) (CIN, SF)

-2 CIN losses plus strength of victory tiebreaker (@IND, @DEN, PIT)

What's interesting about the playoff scenario you've outlined is that if the Dolphins lose to the Jets, the Bills stay home for the playoffs. Period, end of story. I don't often say this, but, um, go Fish!

If the JETS win, the easiest route in is:

CINCY - loses to Indy, beats Den, loses to Pit

KC - beats Oak and Jax

Denver would either lose to SF and be eliminated or beat them and be eliminated by KC.

We can't control our own destiny entering the final week. We will need at least something to happen in our favor the final week no matter what happens this week. The best scenario you can paint is.........

IND Beats CIN

CIN Beats DEN

KC Beats OAK

MIA Beats NYJ

NE Beats JACK

If this happend we would need one of three things to happen in Week 17 if the Bills win out.

PIT Beats CIN

KC Beats JACK

SF Beats DEN

Please no more of these threads. Everybody should consolidate these into just one.

The only way we make it is if we win out and lots of other AFC teams ahead of us to collapse. This is highly improbable.

Let us hope for the wins and a winning season.

Dude, just mind your own business. A bunch of us are excited so we worked out the playoff scenarios. And if you've been following them, you would know that it's NOT "high improbable" for the Bills to make the playoffs. Just unlikely. We're excited. Let us be.

In your above scenario, why can't you just substitute Denver beating Cinci? In the orignal scenario, that would accomplsh the 2 out of 3 things we needed, in additon to the Fish beating the Jets. Then you could take KC out of the equation.

Here's the original post I was basing this off:
