Leo Roth, of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, reports Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron's background is on defense, so he will have to count on new offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild to help rebuild the Bills' offense. Buffalo was 28th in the league in offense during 2005 and was ranked 29th in passing. During Fairchild's tenure with the St. Louis Rams, the Rams ranked No. 3, 5 and 4 in passing yardage.

Mark Gaughan, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills have offered their defensive coordinator job to Jim Bates, former defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers. The Bills were waiting to hear if Bates would accept the job.

 

 

Bills | Fairchild likely to have free reign of offense

Mark Gaughan, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild is expected to have free reign with the team's offense. Head coach Dick Jauron gave his offensive coordinators autonomy while he coached the Chicago Bears.

It has only been a few days since his hiring and it is yet another major change for this organization - I don't understand the sentiment that people shouldn't be talking about this.

 

It's one thing to scream "we suck" in week 15 after 15 sucky weeks, but at least give people a few days to get their thoughts out...
