How does Charlie Weis look now???

Notre Dame seems to be rolling.

The man has a great offensive mind and 4 Superbowl rings......plus he's fat, like most of Buffalo. He would have fit right in.

We could have been in year 5 of the Marvin Lewis era by now but TD chose Gregg Williams instead.

The best head coach TD ever hired still resides in Pittsburgh.

There's nothing that I have seen that indicates that either of the two coaches you mentioned would have taken the Bills job. Sometimes you have to go with what you can get instead of chasing pipe dreams. Weis left New England for his dream job and Lewis turned off the Bills becuse of his lackluster interest in the job.

Hard to compare College & NFL but the two big differences are Notre Dame has a great O-Line. They have lots of size and experience. QB Brady Quinn also has lots of experience. He's only a Junior and he has already started 26 games and has played in every game since he was a freshman. When Weis was in NE, the Patriots always had a great O-Line. You can do almost anything when the QB has all the time in the world to make plays and the O-Line creats lots of running space for the backs. The Bills have none of this right now. In fact, I would take ND's O-Line and have them play for the Bills Sunday. They would do better than what we have now.

Dont blame TD for not hiring Marvin Lewis: Ralph Wilson refused to pay the going rate for a head coach. Remember Greg williams salary was 800,000.000 - he now makes 1.8 million as an assistant. In the salary cap era where talent is equalized and coaching means everything, multi multi millionaire and wanna be hall of famer ralph wilson was squeezing nickels by refusing to pay the going rate for a head coach. This after the NFL sanctioned him for refusing to pay the last year of Wade Phillips contract - a whopping 750,000.00 - This from a guy who paid 100,000 for a franchise now worth 400 million.

Money certainly is one component. But an even bigger component is having control over one's destiny. As long as Teflon Tom is in charge, the HC won't be in control and will have little control of who he can bring in and who he can get rid of. I thought Ralph was smarter than that... or maybe he doesn't care about Ws and Ls anymore... just the bottom $$$ line.

Since you know him so well and know what jobs he would and wouldn't take could you tell him I said hello and hope that he beats USC next weekend.

Not trying to be an ass, but just remember that we only get part of the story.
