Trump_is_Mentally_fit Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5640305-higgins-gonzalez-miami-mayoral/ Democrats have wrested GOP control from the Miami mayor’s office for the first time in nearly 30 years in Tuesday’s closely watched runoff. Democrat Eileen Higgins, a former county commissioner, won what her party saw as one of the last remaining tests of their grassroots energy heading into next year. Higgins defeated Republican Emilio Gonzalez, Miami city manager, who has been endorsed by President Trump. Miami is party of Miami-Dade County, which went red in 2024 after being a blue stronghold for years. 1
The Frankish Reich Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago All the inside consultants understand that if the midterms were to be held now, the Democrats would regain control over the House. I don't know why our political parties are so stupid. Trump got 49.81 percent of the popular vote a year ago against the weakest Democratic ticket ever. And then they acted like they had some kind of resounding mandate. And Biden won in 2020 by acting like a normal centrist and then proceeded to govern like an old school tax-and-spend wokist. It's not too late, but I don't see the Republicans changing tack until they take a whuppin next November.

If people feel they are in better hands with Trump et al come next summer through the midterms, it goes one way. If they don’t it changes. Either way, the world keeps spinning, people with extreme views accuse everyone not with them of being in a cult, or being nazis or whatever. Tho we can probably bet if @4th & long declares it’s over, or times up, or whatever, it will go the other way. I will say, however, that I believe you are quite incorrect on the message sent with the R resurgence last election. It seems obvious that the outcome reflected a repudiation of the persecution (real, perceived, or political) of Trump. The liberal left was never moving, but damn if the A team didn’t pick up some voters.
