OP seems to think teams can just demand signing bonus repayment at will when it is only under very specific circumstances that it is allowed. The point is the team does not have the money to trade them without recooping the bonus. The players have contracts which restrict where they can be traded which puts team in bind trying get full value of trade for which the players willingly signed new contracts with large signing bonuses. The players could offer t repay portion of signing bonus they have not earned but they aren't because expect to get another bonus after they are traded and contract is renegotiated.
