FRANK CICCI RACING WITH JIM KELLY/DOLLAR GENERALCORPORATION

ANNOUNCE NASCAR BUSCH SERIES SPONSORSHIP PACT FOR 2005

MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA - Long-time NASCAR Busch Series car owner Frank Cicci announced today that Frank Cicci Racing with Jim Kelly has reached a sponsorship agreement with the Dollar General Corporation for the 2005 season.

Veteran driver Randy LaJoie, the 1996 and 1997 NASCAR Busch Series champion, will pilot the #34 Dollar General Chevrolet Monte Carlo beginning with the Hershey’s Kisses 300, 2005 season opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 19. Polaroid Alkaline Batteries will be the first of several Dollar General marketing partners to support the company’s initial sports sponsorship project.

“We have worked diligently the last two years to secure full-time sponsorship of our racing operation since I first announced a partnership with Jim Kelly,” Cicci said. ”Dollar General adds momentum to our efforts to again become a competitive force in the Busch Series”, he added.

Partnering with recently enshrined National Football League Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, Frank Cicci Racing with Jim Kelly will operate out of its 12,000-square foot racing facility in the Mooresville Motorsports Park. John Bland will serve as crew chief.

The familiar yellow and black colors of Dollar General stores and corporate logo will be featured on the Cicci/Kelly racing machines. Based in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, the Dollar General Corporation (www.dollargeneral.com) is a Fortune 500 discount retailer with 7,321 neighborhood stores as of December 31, 2004.

Dollar General stores offer convenience and value to customers by offering consumable basic items that are frequently used and replenished. This includes food snacks, health and beauty products and cleaning supplies as well as a selection of basic apparel, house wares and seasonal items at everyday low prices.

“The #34 Monte Carlo is a great way to bring the excitement of NASCAR racing to fans who shop our stores,” said Stonie O’Briant, Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing and Strategic Planning. “We’re looking forward to a successful collaboration with Frank Cicci and Jim Kelly on the track and in our stores.”

Considered one of the NASCAR Busch Series top owners, Cicci is returning to full-time status in 2005 after running a limited number of events over the last three seasons. Frank Cicci Racing has helped develop such notable drivers as Todd Bodine, Mike McLaughlin, Jimmy Spencer and LaJoie.

FCR-prepared Busch Series cars have started 708 races and recorded 19 victories, 139 top five and 277 top10 finishes and earned 14 poles. Bodine and McLaughlin both finished in the top five in points twice.

Kelly, who guided the Buffalo Bills to four straight NFL Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993, is long-time NASCAR fan and has worked very hard alongside Cicci and his team’s marketing staff to secure this level of sponsorship. He is genuinely excited about the opportunity to represent Dollar General.

“I am very excited and flattered that Dollar General and a number of their vendors have joined our team as sponsors”, Kelly said. “Teamwork is vital to achieving your goals, and I look forward to developing a strong, successful program that will benefit Dollar General and their suppliers both on and off the track.”

The 43-year old LaJoie is a 15-time winner in Busch Series competition and brings a lot of experience to the Cicci/Kelly program.

“I have always admired Frank Cicci and his contributions to our sport as an owner, so I am honored to have been selected to drive the car that will bring Frank Cicci Racing back to full-time competition,” LaJoie said.

Jim has actually been partnered with Frank Cicci since about 2002-03...

They fielded a #34 LesCare Kitchens Chevrolet driven by Waterloo-native Mike McLaughlin for part of a season...but it didn't last long due to lack of $$$

Hopefully this deal works out for Jim and Frank. Frank Cicci has had success as car owner in the Busch Series as well as in Modified racing in the 70s & 80s with Jimmy Spencer. Randy Lajoie is also a very talented driver and has tons of success in the Busch Series.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!
