First of all, nobody will be mistaken for Jim Kelly. Not Manuel, not Tuel, not any of the other previous QBs in Buffalo since he retired. Not Brady, Manning, Brees, Favre, or any of the other all-timers. Jim Kelly stands alone, as do all the other first ballot HOFers. For the second point, there's no sense in even discussing the positives of EJ last night. He was god awful on the overthrow to Watkins (he would have had a TD had the pass been on target) and was horrible on the rest of his throws that were deflected. The only positive play was the screen to Williams, who gained yardage with his feet rather than by a perfectly executed mid range route/throw/catch. I do realize "its only preseason", but if EJ stinks again during the next game, there should be a serious discussion brewing between the coaching staff and front office. Support your guy thing is great. But, it Will not make up for the obvious. he is a seriously flawed QB. he showed it In 2013, and will continue. Within 16 to 29 regular season games, he will Be thrown in the Collins, RJ, Lossman, Fitz scrap heap. Nothing last night Showed that the light had turned on. he simply cannot make the throws, reads, Nothing. At no time in his short appearance was there a feeling of this guy has it. And it is only a matter of time. Actually quite the opposite, and those big bad Giants swatting down Passes makes one wonder when EJ will make his move to becoming a viable NFL QB. The excuses Need to stop. great kid, good work ethic, wants to win But doesn't have it. hackett will be unemployed too. Quite possibly everyone. Watkins may have to wait a year or two until hopefully The Bills bring in a bona fide NFL quarterback on their next attempt. The present situation could spell Doom for everyone when new ownership comes in. And, most likely the key ownership Players are watching and have been very closely monitoring the current staff.
