Met and toasted the New year with a lot of great people, people shared some great treats with us, really fun. Helped a lot of folks from all over Asia with corkscrews and popping Champagne corks. About 11:15, we headed over to the Tower, and that was a little anticlimactic. No countdown, pretty much same show as every other night. BTW, would not recommend this time of year if the major sites are on your agenda. All the big sites have just crazy lines. We were in June a few years back, and this is way worse in terms of crowds. Louvre is at least 2 hr no matter when you get there...even if you get there an hour before opening time. We have been doing tons of walking tours in the different neighborhoods, going to smaller museums, and having a blast!
