Deadspin: Percentage of Loyal Fans Within 50 Miles of Hometeam

Now that you bring it up... it is amazing. How much do we still see of the original standing buffalo? The older jerseys still being worn from the 90's teams? I get that was our last successful era (only, some could say), but when do you ever see the old Pats jerseys or clothing? You don't. Fifteen years ago they would not sell, and now every chowder head is a "Pats fan." Just like they were "Sox fans" and Bruins fans not long ago.

15 years ago, the pats were entering their 5th of 18 seasons of consective home sellouts. And that was it began after a 5-11 season and included a 6-10 season. The streak would continue through subsequent 8-8 and another 5-11 seasons and include 3 seasons of Pete Carroll as HC.

It's hard to point to a team with that kind of sellout record and say they are only fair weather fans.

That team has proven that, barring winning, the best way to put fans in the stands is a change in ownership. We can only hope this is on the way soon for the Bills.
