This does not take in account potential for injuries or fumbles ect... He is almost averaging 6.6 yards per carry...(which leads all RBs) Spiller currently has 144 carries for 944 .... Maybe not mind blowing.... But when you consider he is the ONLY RB league with less than 150 carries, who currently has over 900 yards rushing... Example: Vick Ballard has 146 carries ....562 yards, Darren McFadden has 150 carries for 502 yards.... Those are the only 2 RB's who carries come close to Spiller Carries.... So Now lets play "WHAT IF" .... Adrian Peterson leads the league in rushing...with 1,600 yards , on 265 carries... thats 121 more carries and 656 more yards than Spiller..... So What If Spiller had 121 more that averaged 6.5 yards? that would equal 786.5 more carries THAT ALONE would almost DOUBLE! Fred Jacksons production this year ....Fred Jackson has 437 yards on 115 carries..... it Would Also bring his season total to 1'730 rushing.....With 3 games Left he'd have a GREAT chance at going over 2000 yards rushing Some people would say...but if the har more carries his yard per carry would diminish.... Okay well lets say he averaged 5.5 yards per carry with the extra 121 ... that equal 665 more yards... Still more productive that Fred...and he'd still be leading the league in rushing barely edgeing Adrian Peterson...With a GOOD chance to go over 2,000 yards rushing Even if you say he'd only 4.5 yards per carry with the extra 121 carries .... thats 544 yards (still more productive than Fred) and He'd be the 2nd Best RB in the league, only behind Adrian Peterson, with No one else even close... Spiller behind the number has become an Elite RB, and this didnt even include his impact on the passing game (Barring Major injuries to Spiller or the O-line, I can see Spiller coming close to cracking the 2,000 yard club next year) ESPECIALLY if the "WHAT IF" really happens... NoSaint Posted December 13, 2012 Share Posted December 13, 2012 it wouldnt just be his future yards per carry, but very possibly his past yards per carry that would diminish. defenses would be able to key on him more, hed have all those hits compressed into smaller windows, etc.... that said, hes a fantastic - just electric player.
