runner Posted January 3, 2005 Share Posted January 3, 2005 As a Hawkeye fan, I have to say I thought we blew it with the clock running down and us failing to call a time out. Then...Drew Tate pulls out what I am calling another "Flutie Play" out of nowhere and throws the ball to a guy who had never scored a touchdown in his college career. (Holloway's a fifth year senior!) I was screaming "Oh my God!" over and over I just couldn't believe it. I just hope some NFL team doesn't take Kirk Ferentz from us... Congrats on your victory. After that play, I got the same sick feeling I got when the Bills lost after the homerun throwforward thing against the Titans. Iowa were some of the classiest fans I have ever met. You guys love your team as much as we love ours. That Drew Tate will be known all over the country now. I'm just glad that third string quarterback didn't play the whole game! Your new coach should have some good guys to work with...hope it works out well for you.
