Big Turk Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I really think the pressure of the moment was too much to put on these guys at this stage of their development. The Bills organization actually did them a disservice by making such a big deal out of it...the whiteout, the white uniforms for first time in 25 years, the added hype... Its one thing to win when u are the underdog and noone thinks you will, another when everything is on the line and you are being picked to win by everyone. This is a team that thrives on the underdog role, they do not know how to handle being favorites yet, and in hindsight was probably too much to expect from them too soon. They aren't ready for that type of game yet with that type of hype. Winning is a process and they need to learn how to take care of business in games like this. For most of the first three quarters they looked scared to death out there...scared of the moment, scared of the spotlight against a team who always tries to reposition the spotlight on themselves and who are used to it being from new york. I just wish the Bills organization didn't put the pressure they did on them and let the team attempt to grow into that role instead of throwing them into the fire...
KD in CA Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It wasn't the pressure of the moment, it was the pressure of a team that is much deeper and more talented. It's been a fun year so far and a big step in the right direction, but the Bills are not there yet. They still need to play error-free football and get some breaks in order to beat high quality teams and they didn't get either of those on Sunday.

Are the jets really so much more talented than the giants team we should have beat on road 3 weeks ago? Doubt it. Sanchez isn't even in the discussion with Eli as a QB and they have a better pass rush... Kelly wrote in his book about this type of thing in his book when he talked about the last game of the strike shortened 87 season where they could have made the playoffs by beating the lowly jets or pats and how the answer to whether they had grown up enough or not flashed on the scoreboard 60 minutes later with a 9-6 loss and how they weren't ready yet to handle winning those types of games... Make no mistake, these type of things matter...
