Disagree, Detroit is bottoming out, in that they are still losing games, and might be 1-15, or 2-14 right there with us, but at least they're playing games that are compettiive, and seem to have some players that are in a position to grow and improve.

We show no signs of being anywhere close to improving. We could have four or fewer wins through 2012 and I wouldn't be surprised.

Detroit bottomed out at 0-16 they spent the last year and this season building from that.

They were 2-14 last year, still one of the worst records in footabll, and could easily repeat that performance this year...

The point is, that just because we bottom out doesn't mean we're going to get better...we need players who can play, not a collection of losses

It takes a while to build a team that went 0-16 into a winning team. They are still building its only really been one year into the building process. Detroit is still bad but they drafted a QB (Stafford) and some play makers on offense (Pettigrew and Snead)and then they drafted some players on D as well (Suh and Delmas). Yeah they probably need two more really good drafts but the progress is being made. Could Stafford and Suh not pan out and they bottom out again yeah but that's how you go about building a team its a process.

Obviously a collection of losses isn't going to mean anything. But if this team goes 2-14 and gets one of the top picks in the draft and we are able to draft a QB to build a franchise around as well as pick up a few productive pieces later in the draft then its a step in the right direction. This season isn't going to be looked at as the worst season ever if we look back and we got a franchise QB as the end game of it.
