Perfect fit at QB for Gailey...

Recommended Posts

As an App. Alum I've seen him play every game throughout his collegiate career.

A few notes:

Personal:

He's a very humble, intelligent kid. About as blue collar as you are going to find. Graduated in 3.5 years cum laude. Came from a pretty poor family in S.C. father is in jail for killing a guy in a bar fight. Mother was pretty much the only family he had. He has married his high school sweet heart and had a child during his Junior year. In the locker room, he was the undisputed leader, although he is not incredibly vocal.

Athletics:

He’s more quick than he is fast (that being said still ran a 4.4 forty.) He dominated the minute he stepped on the field as a freshman. Injured his shoulder during fall workouts before the Michigan game, played through the pain, but missed two weeks after that. Injured his foot during a freak lawn mower accident before his senior year.

First two years he was a run first QB, but mentality shifted towards developing pocket presence and passing number significantly increased. Ran out of the spread offense the entire time he was in college. To this day, I have not seen him under center, even in a victory formation. Has a good arm, can make all the throws, above average arm strength, very good at dropping the throw where it needs to be.

Overall:

A spectacular player to watch, as exciting as they come. Height/Size is a concern, Has all the tools to be a QB in the NFL, with the exception of his height. That said, he is the prototypical return man. Has been working on running routes and by all accounts has come a long way. My guess is he is drafted in the 5th or 6th round.

For those that may be concerned about him playing in Buffalo after going to a North Carolina school, Boone has a pretty similar temperature profile to Buffalo. Doesn’t get quite as cold, but tends to be more windy.

In a couple of the draft magazines I have been looking through, there is 1 player who stands out the most to me, at one of the Bills' positional needs heading into the draft.

The thing I like about this guy is that he could potentially fill 1-4 different needs.

Armanti Edwards - QB/WR/RB/KR/PR - Appalachian State

In Pro Football Weekly's 2010 NFL Draft Magazine, Edwards is the 4th rated passer. It says he has the potential to be the next Michael Vick, without the baggage. He could sit back for 1-3 years and learn. However, he would be able to produce as a specialist/role player, in the Wildcat or Pistol formation, until he is ready to takeover a team.

PRO DAY RESULTS: Last year it was West Virginia QB Pat White who was all the rage leading up to the draft due to his versatile skills and ability to run the Wildcat formation. This year, it's Appalachian State QB Armanti Edwards who brings similar talents to the table. Edwards, who led the Mountaineers to a national title in his freshman year, truly burst onto the national scene as a sophomore in 2007 when he led Appalachian State to a historic upset of host Michigan. He has continued to develop since then, and now finds himself a potential mid-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He's going to be one of those guys that will give defensive coordinators gray hairs trying to defend him, and he showed why with an exceptional workout at Appalachian State's pro day on March 16. Ravens receivers coach Jim Hostler and Eagles QB coach James Urban were on hand to watch Edwards and five other players work out indoors on FieldTurf. Edwards (5-foot-11, 192 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.44 and 4.41 seconds, had a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump, a 4.19-second short shuttle, a 6.74-second three-cone drill and did 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. He also did position drills as both a quarterback and receiver. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Too late for trial and error. The division is loading up with talent. We need to add quality players or we will stay in the basement for the next 10 years.

Should the Bills fashion themselves as Armanti or Levi?

And wasn't Armanti Dawson the Center for the Steelers awhile back? Or maybe an outfielder for the Cubs?

No that's Andre Dawson. Armanti Dawson used to host the Family Feud

I like Armanti...AND Pat White...in the Gailey offense these guys are future Mike Vicks without the Dogs...they both run comparable 40's to Vick and have decent arm strength...

Armanti is like Tebow, but only in the fact they are project spread option style QB's...oh and Armanti actually has NFL speed...TeSlow does not...

I always trade for Pat White in madden hehehee...he is my franchise QB...throws for like 190 yards a game and runs for 100 :0) hehehehe
