Question: Rebuilding entire staff

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any input regarding the success of complete coaching rebuilds in organizations?

Has this happened before recently and how did it work?

It happens almost every time a new coach is hired from outside that specific organization.

Parcells and the Dolphins cleaned house a couple years ago, rebuilt, and went like 11-5 or something.

So yeah, it happens all the time, you just don't notice because you are a Bills fan and we are used to the same ole b.s.

Let's see, it happened in Atlanta when they brought in Mike Smith a couple years ago. Worked great for them so far, and they had to come back from the Vick to jail crap. Baltimore brought in John Harbaugh a couple years ago, playoffs for him both years. Miami hired Tony Sporano, 11-5-0 and then a drop off to 7-9-0, but not a bad two seasons for him. (And they came off 1-15-0.)

Atlanta did it right. Blank realized he needed a real football man makeing personel decisions. He moved Rich McKay to President of Operations, Dimitrof was brought in as GM. Dimitrof was able to hire the coach. he also redid the entire scouting department. The Falcons are definetly on their way. They had some bad luck last year with their first two picks getting injured. Give them one more draft, and i think you are going to see a winner for years to come. They just broke a 40+ year jinx, of never haveing two winning seasons in a row.
