  1. Again, I apologize for taking the thread on such a tangent. In an attempt to bring it back full-circle let me offer this followed by a question:

In the piece they say that the Bills shouldn't reach for a QB at 8. If Geno is there ESPN believes that the Bills should only take him if they believe he is a franchise QB and not, simply, better than Kolb in the short-term. (Duh!)

Last night, Buddy told John Murphy that there were 3 "great" NFL QBs in the draft. With that knowledge, is there any way the Bills don't take one of those 3 at 8 and gamble that one of them will still be there in Rd. 2?

I don't think Geno is a franchise QB and hopefully Buddy is blowing a smoke screen to get someone to jump up to #8. At least that is what I'm hoping for. I also think no matter who is picked at #8, if Buffalo keeps it, Buddy will get slammed. I just hope its not over a QB. I would like to see EJM or Barkley in a Bills hat next weekend and think one of them will make it to the 2nd.

Not sure who it was, but watching NFL Total Access yesterday one of the guests said if Buffalo does not take a Geno at 8, it is likely all QB's slip into the early 2nd.

    Cheers!

  2. I think the biggest take away is the amount of "starters" or draft picks still on this roster since 2010. A lot of people on this board are awfully critical about Buddy's "inability" to draft. All GM's have hits and misses, but I'm will to say Buddy has had more hits then misses. Specifically round 1.

Insider's NFL and draft experts -- Todd McShay, Mel Kiper, Chris Sprow and Field Yates -- have teamed up to give a full breakdown of all that should be considered for each team as it enters the 2013 NFL draft. Here we look at the Buffalo Bills.

    Cheers,

    GO BILLS!

  3. Fellas, what this means is that the Bills are now not forced to take a QB with the #8 pick overall. That doesn't mean that they won't. It just gives them more options. I like the move. I think Kolb is actually a better QB than Fitz. He had some really big games when he was with the Eagles. I don't want to say this too loud, but I think the Bills think that Barkley is the gem of the draft. It's possible that they think they can get Barkley in R2. The other point I'd like to make is that if I'm Nix and I don't feel the need to take a QB at #8 overall then I'm looking to trade down to acquire more draft picks.

I think you are absolutely, 100% on the money....

  4. I will be brief: Buddy WILL take a QB at #8. He cannot afford to play it cute and risk being stuck with his third or fourth choice at #41.

Why can't he afford it? He has already stated the reigns will be turned over to Whaley after the draft, so he is all but done anyhow....therefor he really doesn't have a horse in the race...So what, next year everyone says Nix reached, bad choice, blah blah blah, while he is on the lake fishing....

  5. he will be 27 this november and has back to back 80+ catch seasons and lets say it was 5 years and 36 million . i mean we paid t.o 6.5 million for a season and he was over the hill but did put people in the seats

He also has a QB who can get the ball to him while he is running....not in the dirt or behind him...

  6. I don't think we should go the rookie route at all... I think we should try for Skelton! :nana:

    On a serious note:

I'm firmly in the Matt Barkley camp. His junior year was absolutely amazing. He has good numbers for td:int ratio, completion %, and ypa. The teams he played on also weren't the typical USC "better talent than anyone else" squads.

Agree....the only QB in this draft worth taking in the first two rounds in my opinion.

  7. Probably one of the worst ideas that's ever been floated on this board, right up there with hiring Marty Shottenheimer as HC. Flacco got his OC fired this year and is on the verge of being run out of Baltimore. Yep, let's back up the truck.

Yep, Flacco really lighting it up today against the fearsome Colts' defense. Back up the truck!

Flacco can't get it done with Ray Rice, Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith and a good defense.

    Highly overrated.

There was a brinks truck near me that flipped over throwing 10 million dollars of silver all over the highway...so no go for Flacco

Hmmmm...still think its a bad idea? Not so much....lets see...5 years in the league, 5 playoff appearances, now a Superbowl QB...Oh yeah forgot to mention he outplayed Bundchen in two AFC Championship games...
