  2. This is just a message board, not a court of law. While the 99% figure is obviously hyperbole, can we agree that the circumstantial evidence sure suggests that Lynch likely did something wrong? Can we say there's a better-than-50% chance? I think we can. While this is not proof enough to convict a guy in a court, this IS INDEED proof enough to discuss it. We're talking what-ifs here. If, during the season we're 9-5, and we start discussing possible playoff scenarios, are you going to be the guy that jumps in and says "Hey guys! Stop talking about playoffs! It's not PROVEN that we will even get in the playoffs! Wait until we clinch it before you discuss that playoffs!"
  3. I suppose we run with very different crowds. My post was in response to someone who was diminishing the significance of a hit-and-run. In my post, I was commenting on the severity of the crime in my eyes, not on his guilt or innocence. In any case, it's been reported by the DA that Lynch was in the car. Even if he was just a passenger in the car, I'd say that it does not speak well for one's character to not come-forward to the police.
  4. You talk about this like it's some kid's hijinks. He's a 22-year-old man, with a (supposed) college education. He didn't make a mistake - he willfully committed a criminal act.
  5. Simply looking at player loss vs. player gain doesn't tell the whole story. Most of the players on the team are young, and they get incrementally better every year by adding experience, strength, yadda yadda. We can lose more and better players than we add and still be a better team next year. It's that same thinking that leads everyone to believe the patriots will be so great next year because of the new free agents they signed.......People forget that the team is, overall, a little older than average, and the rest of their players are getting incrementally worse - just a little slower, just a little more injury prone. I'm not saying we are definitely going to be better next year......I'm saying we shouldn't think the team is doomed to take a step backward jsut because we lost more than we gained.
