Dolphins put up 70 pts; Andy Reid says hold my beer!

I wonder if any team has a chance to run it up and bury Denver would do so because of Payton’s arrogance and comments about a fellow coach (Hackett) breaking the code. Additionally the Broncos looked like they gave up perhaps Payton has lost the locker room because he basically insulted all the returning players multiple times to the public/media.

I didn’t mind seeing them get 70 put on them.

    Jets gunna Jest

Lance was a trade of 3 first rounders. Hard to beat that.

Jets should be calling Jameis Winston in my opinion.

Josh’s completion percentage has been good today. But his accuracy hasn’t quite been there. Missing a couple of throws or slightly off target to prevent any YAC

agree the yards per completion is this low it’s half play design and the other half is ball placement that isn’t allowing/maximizing yards after catch

This team is built for being ahead. Hopefully the offensive showing today isn’t the norm’ for the year otherwise we may not get to see that tandem live up to its potential.

Think we should try a “NASCAR” package of Von/Epenesa/Groot/Floyd a few times and see if there’s anything there. Jets had a lot of trouble blocking the explosive players (which is foreseeable).

phillips should be inside with groot in that scheme in my opinion.

They still have huge question marks at offensive tackle…that was absolutely insane what they were getting away with today.  Chiefs oline should’ve gotten massacred

I expect a statement from the NFL regarding the OT lining up and false starting tomorrow morning. That was atrocious.

every team in the NFL should have submitted tape and asked if this is now legal so they can implement for week 1.

Mahomes’ receivers didn’t do him any favors, and the pick 6 wasn’t on him, but he was inaccurate and had poor ball placement all night. That’s just truth.

Agree. The drops forced receivers to stop and turn as opposed to a drop that was in stride. Not his best night for sure.

Terrico already the first to say this loss for KC comes with an asterisk for no Jones and Kelce. Expect that to be the media go to tomorrow all day long.

that’s fine I hope they get a couple more asterisks and are 0-3. Every game is huge for postseason seeding

Seems that way, right? This is an embarrassment for the league on opening night in front of a world audience and I doubt Taylor will get away with it moving forward. But the Lions coaches should be all over it with the refs as well.

they may have alerted the refs and refs still aren’t calling it?!?

You gotta live in the real world. If a team could get away with saying.”Hey, kid, take 50¢ on the dollar and we’ll put a real swell team around you!” then every team would screw over every player that way.

the real world includes a minimum salary cap (floor). which prevents exactly what you just stated.

“Teams must spend at least 89% of the cap over a four-year period, while the NFL as a whole must spend at least 95% of the cap”

I recall this headline :Colts’ Andrew Luck Becomes NFL’s Highest-Paid Player With 5 year $122M dollar deal.

I wonder if he would have taken 30% less to have an O-line that weren’t turnstyles that partially lead to his early retirement.

  10. I hear rumors a while back prior to the Jalen Hurts or Herbert deals that Burrow wanted an 8 year fully guaranteed contract at $25M/yr the thought was he wanted to ensure Chase could be resigned without question.

this approach would open the door for Bosa. Bosa paired with Hendrickson is scary.

Could he ever consider that contract with what others have signed for recently? No idea. But the guy does so much for low income families between his foundation, food bank stuff, and now purchasing small family farms to help out those groups. It is possible I guess. his mother is a school principal still and see a lot of this struggle on a daily basis.

If he signs that deal and it paves the way for Bosa, they give him the key to the city.

The problem with the Bills is not that they can't protect Allen.  The problem is that Allen doesn't do what great quarterbacks do, which is to release the ball quickly and accurately to the receiver who is open.   That's what good QBs do.  They have high completion percentages because they take and make the easy throws.

Allen is not patient.   He isn't willing to give up on a play and take the easy throw.  He wants the chunk play every play.   Good quarterbacks take the chunk play when it's there and take the easy throw when it isn't.

Either his coaches are failing him, or he's failing himself.   His future, if it's bright, is as a pocket passer, and he's wasting his precious time on the field by trying to hit home runs every play.  The best quarterbacks take what's easy.

midway through the season last year the entire offensive game plan changed. Allen’s air yards per attempt went up dramatically and completion percentage went down significantly.

the team gave up on the short yardage passing game, to the naked eye it didn’t seem like there were a lot of routes to open up receivers for YAC.

I’ll blame the coordinator on scheme.

  12. Recent History

Success can be had with a poor Oline.

    - 2021 Chiefs make Super Bowl with terrible offensive line.

    - 2022 Bengals make Super Bowl with worst offensive line in football.

    - 2023 Bengals make AFC game and embarrass Bills a week before with 31st ranked Offensive line.

while the offensive line will likely not be great this year the interior has been vastly improved. The other best method to improve/hide the OL is by utilizing a short passing game strategy. The Bills last year had 50% more deep throws than the next highest team. The play calling didn’t do anything to help the Oline last year. That needs to be different this year, I’m looking at you Mr. Dorsey.
