So is McBeane believing there is a #1 WR still on the board?

in the second round are you looking for single trait players that could possibly develop into a number 1?

example: is worthy currently just an undersized speedster that you hope can develop into more?

is McConkey a high floor slot receiver that you hope can begin to play on the outside effectively.

this is unlike the top 3 WRs that went early who have multiple traits (thus why they are top 10 picks).

So what trait does Beane value and does hedraft for that trait or for something. The team is currently lacking? Speed, hands, route running, contested catches. And hope other traits develop with pro level coaching?

    Mitchell & Franklin.

this is my absolute best case scenario. Not sure how it can happen but needs to be a trade down from 33 and then a future 2nd rounder most likely.

If he didn't have the injury history, I would be down. He is fluid and an elite route runner with great hands.  But he can't stay on the field.

I know everything that every kid in America knows about Franklin, but I recently learned that he f-ed every woman that he could get his hands on even after he was married. I mean, given the fact that he's been dead for over 200 years I guess that doesn't matter, but it is a data point.

The Office teaches all we need to know about Ben Franklin…

Benjamin Franklin was a notorious womanizer and James K Polk was one of the worst Presidents in American history. #justsayin

But Franklin would bring some “electricity” to the offense.

The only significant change in that heap is the addition of the 95th.  After 128th they're all 5th, 6th, or 7th rounders.  Of those six picks, we'll be lucky to see three of 'em make the roster.

Of the 25 picks that Beane's made from 128th on, only two have become starters besides Davis, whom few thought was good.  Shakir and Benford, both from the '22 draft and both still with some TBD.  Most of those 25 picks aren't even on the team anymore if they even ever made it to begin with.

All 5th, 6th, and 7ths should used used to improve position in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks to ensure you get the player(s) you are targeting

Why would the Panthers trade to jump ahead of the Bills? Presumably they were afraid the Bills would take their guy Legette.

To prevent from the bills trading to another team.

also Legette is considered raw so having the 5th year option may be desirable.

  7. The trade with Carolina is a no brainer for many reasons.

    1. You confirm with Carolina the player they are moving up to select is not the player you want. If it is then you don’t make the trade.
    2. you move up about 60 spots from late 6th to high 5th. That is the 125 ranked player vs the 185.

    3. the newly acquired high 5th rounder is a much more valuable trade chip to improve 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders.

    4. The first pick in the 2nd round is often a highly traded pick as teams reevaluate their boards (since moving to the 3 day format), giving more trade down opportunities.

  8. What is interesting in this mock is how many players in the 3rd round are available that I’d love to see the bills take. Granted it is probably due to reaches like Kneeland making players available. But the 3rd includes…

    Legette

    Franklin

    Kris Jenkins

    Cole Bishop

    Kinchens

From what I know about Aiyuk is he's a yac guy and we need more of that.

Allen has never really produced with a big YAC guy. Is that because of the Bills offensive scheme with almost no effective WR screens, very few slant routes and I can’t remember I have ever seen shallow drag routes thrown under LB coverage.

i wouldn’t want to pay Aiyuk big money and then not take advantage of one of his best attributes.

Forget about defense. If we are going to win it's on the back of the offense.  How many times do you have to see the elite D fail in the playoffs to know no matter how good they make the D it's not going to matter? McD should be able to make due with what he gets on D.

another reason to focus on offense is the D is just not as critical in the playoffs. Basically no offensive holding is called and the DBs can get away with more holding and contact.

this basically devalues the DB and DE in the playoffs (while they are of fullest value during the regular season).

People behind the scenes knew something was brewing.  The line moved on him being traded, specifically, to the Texans.

I was listening to Vic on XM and he stated that Beane is "retooling on the fly" and that's exactly what it looks like.

With Cook being the RB1 and the addition of Samuel, it seems to me that speed will be a primary focus for this "revamped" offense.

Unfortunately, it doesn't tell us much with Nabers, Thomas, Mitchell, Franklin, etc all being 4.3 guys.

Pay close attention to those top-30 visits.

I wonder if a small move up in the 2nd can get Franklin after the poor combine.

im curious how his first 10 split was on these private workouts he had.

So we just have to hope we get a Puka in round 5. Sounds easy enough

id be willing to spend a 4th!!!

In all reality I spend the first 2 picks on WR. Due to the ballooning cost to sign Free Agent WRs and great ones rarely coming available. You need to have a cap controlled contract or two.

Name a rookie WR that was that good. It takes young WR's 2-3 seasons to be good let alone a WR1 for a Superbowl team

Jamar Chase and Jordan Jefferson back to back rookie seasons. Puka Nacua this past year. OBJ and Michael Thomas.

Jordan Addison has 900 yards and 10 TDs last year.

Would you consider Zay Flowers 800+ yards and 5 TDs a good rookie season?
