  1. Very simple -  You chase a player down from behind then you grab him by the waist and bring him down without throwing your body weight on the back of his legs.

So a hip drop tackle is when you grab a player's waist from behind and then swivel your body to put your total body weight on the back of his legs thus trapping his lower leg(s) between your body and the ground.  Leads to serious lower leg injuries.

Its very obvious to see and a good rule change.

  2. The last game the defensive line made 0 tackles.  With my eyes I see the same defensive line play over and over and never getting to Mahomes.

Perhaps we needed someone to recognize the situation and try different things to help the line.  More stunts, blitzes etc - anything to put more pressure on Mahomes and/or make a tackle.

Time for a new defensive coordinator and to make McDermott function as Marv Levy who was a special teams guy.

  3. The Bills did not want tp get into a shootout with Mahomes at any cost.  They basically played prevent defense all game.  Even Mahomes said the Bills played to prevent the long ball all game.  So it appears the Bills were good with death by a 1000 cuts in willing to concede the running game in an effort to slow the Chiefs.

It almost worked as we were in it at the end and showed some toughness at the very end.  I think they did this in Tennessee as well.  This is why the Chiefs ran wild and convert so may 3rd downs.

But this has to be a morale killer to a proud defense, to give up so much yardage willingly and is it sustainable?

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but the CFL gives each head coach ONE flag (separate from the usual challenge flags) with which to challenge a pass interference call. Since this rule was instituted, the average time of games in the CFL has actually gone DOWN.

I don't see why we can't give each coach one flag -- say it's blue, just for the sake of argument -- and that's all they get. They can each challenge ONE pass interference play a game. Is that REALLY going to add a bunch to the length of games? I say no.

If you're going to let PI be a spot foul, you have to let it be challenged.

I think that scenario would drive the coaches crazy.  OK when do I throw this one-time flag?  If Reid had thrown it earlier in the game, then what?  So I think they would probably keep it in their pocket until the last few minutes of a close game and probably never even use it.  I've seen so many replays of  passes where the db and receiver are hand fighting the whole time.  More often than not receivers are giving a push on the db when running an out pattern.  Like so many have said, pi (off or def) could be called on probably 90 percent of passes.  I've watched football for over 50 years and played for 10 and still have no real answers for handling PI.  Don't think you can review every one.

  5. I'd like to see better playcalling on 1st and 2nd downs.  Seems like we're consistently sending shady into the right side of the line on first down and usually on second down.  You can almost predict every first down play.  Run, run, pass was old school football.  Need more play action, screens and passes to the running back to loosen up defenses.  We also seem to play soft defense after getting the lead - need to be more aggressive after taking a lead.

Who cares.  We were 9-7 last year and made the playoffs.  Tore it all down to clear cap space, acquire draft assets, and get our QB and MLB to anchor both sides of the ball for the next 15 years.  Not one thing they did was about THIS season...its all about the next 5 to 10 years.

    So again...who cares?

I care.  Been following the Bills since 1960, am 74 years old and don't have that many years to wait for a great team years in the future,  I want to enjoy and be hopeful every friggin year,
