@ the meadowlands : "F*ck Fireman Ed"
I was carried out of the stadium.

Hover is all style and no substance.
I vote click.

3.) Youboty looked pretty sound out there. I don't think he wiffed on any tackles and he made a pick. Audition or not, he looked impressive.
I thought I saw one of the skins WR's make him his B word on a run block.

The Jets getting Favre was a PR move to help sell seat licenses in a new stadium. They are not a superbowl team, and he wont be here when they are.
-
If the Bills lose that first game against Seattle, they only have 6 out of their last 15 games at home. Not good. That first game's outcome is much bigger than many here think.
The Brett Favre to Jets deal reminds me a lot like the Randy Moss to Patriots deal. A lot of Bills fans, including me, were mocking the impact. Then the season started and it was clear that the Bills were in trouble. I can't believe how many fans here are thinking the Bills are going to whip Favre's ass. They haven't whipped the Jets since Losman and McGahee were starters. The Bills will have a lot of trouble beating them in either game this year. That wasn't the case a couple of days ago.
Evans not signed. Peters holding out. The Jets show their team and fans that winning now is what they are all about. The Bills show their team how they like to play hardball against their best players on the team, while rewarding averageness the year before. Winning now or in the future is clearly not high on the Buffalo Bills agenda.
Not trying to be a johnny downer, I just can't see how so many Bills fans here are so giddy and confident about this team and their chances that they feel like they can mock the Jets today. WTF? Since when have we become world beaters in the last decade? The ONLY thing that they've done is beat bad NFL teams. The only saving grace for the Bills is that they do have an easy schedule, other than that things might not be as cool as you think.
Did you really put these two sentences next to each other?

If Walker performs well on the left side, we can just put JP back on the right and tell him he is not underpaid.

I wonder if they recorded this the night of the accident..

Good work.
Just a thought, but you could try to make it more accurate by adding a draft trade point value to each pick the teams spent. This would solve the discrepancy that a 3rd is equal to a 1st. Then you would be able to say over X amount of years the average NFL team spent 2852 draft points on DBs.

It has been reported that the Rams are interested in acquiring Ricky Williams by trade from the Dolphins but have to wait till he is reinstated in about a week. Trade value 5th rnd. pick. Stated he would provide them the perfect balance at RB with Steven Jackson.
COME ON , if thats all the Fins are trying to get we would be Dumb, dumber , dumbest if we let him get away.
How about the perfect balance with A. train!
Do you understand that he is property of Miami? It would be in their best interest not to help Buffalo.

They spent 90% of the time talking about michael vick and petrino.
And about 30 seconds on who they think they are going to draft.
Which is more time then they spent on the bills draft prospect.
friggin morons.
It is funny how "On the Clock" has almost nothing to do with the draft.
-
Marv has said several times that he is talking about "football character" not boy scout character so yes, he would absolutely sign a guy with minor so called "character issues".
Any one beside me out there who thinks that "character issues" is the top overused phrase when it comes to the draft? Right up there with "value pick" and "high motor".
I disagree. Marv often referrers to the drafting of Shane Conlan over someone else who is now in jail. This would lead me to believe he would take off the field transgressions into account.
Is football and regular character that different? If someone is out on the streets mixing it up with drug dealers and waving guns in peoples faces, they wouldn't strike you as higher risk to cause a disruption in the locker room or on the field?
-
Do you think Marv would consider drafting someone with question marks about their character?? Cause there are a lot of players with so called character issues but tremendous talent who could be had in later rounds. Is it worth taking a chance on those guys or should we eliminate guys based on previous transgressions?

I like Goodell's version of 'Make it Rain'.

I think you mean he has "ideal size", which is true.
Thank you. I was about to break out the thesaurus and pick 10 words more fitting than great.
I think people were having trouble discerning between the great wall of China and Pamela Anderson.

The only way the Bills draft a WR in the first round this year is if we plan on not re-signing Lee within 2 years (wouldn't that suck?) or Calvin Johnson falls to #12 (Not going to happen). Otherwise I would officially declare the Bills staff insane from that point forward. There is no reason for a single team in today's NFL to have 2 legit round 1 WR's starting (and getting paid) on their team, unless one is half way out the door to retirement. There are always going to be other areas of need that outweigh picking something you already have, especially with all the turnover on teams. If we were picking closer to the end of the draft order, maybe.
I agree with your point about us picking a WR early in the round because I think we can find a solid WR later in the draft.
But I disagree with your point about no team having a reason to have 2 legit 1st rnd WR's. The COLTS have Harrison and Wayne, both first rounders. Marv has alot of respect for Polian and I would imagine he would attempt to emulate alot of what he has done.

Touche. That's a fair reply. I do remember the gurus were saying that the rule of thumb though is that it is still too high for ANY Safety. True or false?
Not really rule of thumb for a safety. Most the analysts that were bashing the bills were projecting them to take Huff (who was taken right before us). Whitner was considered the #2 safety.
-
I'm sure that nobody around here forgot the national heat that Marv took when he drafted Whitner at the #8 spot. It looks like the Falcons are going to take S LaRon Landry with their first pick. If they do, what do you think the draft gurus will think about Atlanta's selection of a Safety with the #8 pick?
Marv took heat because Whitner was projected as a mid to late 1st. Landry is projected as a top 10 by many, so I wouldnt expect them to take any heat.

I think the Bears would be more likely to get Quinn then Peterson. They don't really have a need for a RB, but getting rid of Grossman would have the fans building statues in honor of the Bears GM right now
Quinn maybe. Peterson no. They have high regard for their current back Benson. I could see them picking an LB considering thats why they are trading off.

when we bought in shelton he was already old, I think the best Full Back we ever had and you all will agree with me is Sam Gash.
Maybe not the best, but I wish we still had a Larry Centers type FB
Are the Bills ever going to have another shot?
