    This has been the problem with the defense in the playoffs.

    Should they lose this week to the Rams (likely IMHO) they would have to go 9-2 to even get a whiff of the playoffs. With 2 games against the Steelers and games with Minnesota and Green Bay, that is a tall order. Not burying them, just cautiously optimistic.

    The Chiefs get away with murder in the secondary - routinely holding, grabbing, illegal contact, etc. Rarely gets called, but I was glad to see them get burned by it last nite. As for refs playing too big a part, you could tell that Hochuli was showboating and really working to insert himself into the game. No one is paying to watch the Refs.

    No. The year of 13 Seconds was as hot a playoff team as I have ever seen - they would have demolished the Bengals in the AFCCG, and we all saw what they did to the Rams on opening day the next season. i have lost faith in the entire regime, and I am beginning to agree that had they not lucked into JA17, they (McBeane) would both be long gone.

    Funny how everyone is quick to fire McD, but no one holds Bean accountable for the lack of talent on the defense. NOTHING has paid off on the defense (except maybe Cole Bishop). Getting tired of the D being crap, despite all of the investments.

    This defense couldn’t stop a good college team. For all the bitching people do here about McDermott, I’m kinda turning my attention to Beane. How much investment in the D? Where’s the results? That’s talent and drafting.
