  1. If I'm being 100% honest about it, there's a part of me that hopes TT and EJ both play great in the next game and that Cassel screws the pooch. If Cassel is named starter, it will take some of the wind out of my sails. At least for a few days, until I convince myself that he's the right choice because...GO BILLS!

If cassel is the starter he doesn't make it past game 9 (physically).

  2.

E...it's time to throw in the towel on EJM. I realize some posters were vocal in their support and discontinuing that would be a blow to their pride, but it's time to move on. He's never improved on the accuracy issues that have troubled him since day 1. He also struggles to adapt to on-field pressure and his footwork remains sloppy.

Non-fans covering this team, i.e. reporters, have signaled his lack of improvement. Other than a blow to pride, I'm not sure why some fans continue to cling to the notion Manuel is OK.

If you think any other QB on the roster iis significantly better you are significantly deluded.

  3. I really don't put much stock in preseason predictions, but this one has me scratching my head. In the insider piece on the Dolphins becoming the AFC East favorite, if Brady is suspended for any considerable time, they lauded the Dolphins as their pick - mainly due to their FA signings.

This is what they said about the Bills:

"The Bills last year had a bad offense and a great, underrated defense. Now that Rex Ryan is in charge, they are likely to have a bad offense and a great, properly rated defense."

So, an offense that went 9-7 (and was a Bryce Brown goal line fumble away from 10-6) and added Clay, Felton, Incognito, McCoy and Harvin will be worse?

Make some sense of that for me, will ya boys?

I believe that it effectively represents the entire 30 seconds of research ESPN did on the Bills.

  4. Big difference in my mind between really not liking a coach because of the guy, and really not liking a coach because he was a crappy coach.

I never liked Jauron as a coach but thought he was a great guy.

There have been some pitiful coaches over the years. I wasn't a big fan of Gregg Williams as a guy but he didn't annoy me like Marrone did.

I just grew to not like Marrone at all for both on the field and off the field stuff. I was not pissed at him for bailing though, I was rather thrilled and it cemented my beliefs that he was just an ass.

I celebrated when he quit. He saved the owners the trouble of getting rid of him.

  5. I miss the coach. He was certainly a bit brash (ok, more than a bit) but he was very pointed, and would engage callers one on one way more than Schopp ever did!

I can tolerate Bulldog if he's by himself, or with Sal, but will never listen to Schopp again. Ever.

How do you develop a know-it-all tone of voice when in reality you know next to nothing?....the life story of Schopp.

  6. I quit listening to The afternoon Idiots 3 years ago. I missed listening for awhile, but not to them.

As for Hockey Hotline, there simply isn't enough good content to have that show on 5 days a week.

There seems to be enough negativity on this thread to make the powers at WGR to take a long look at a change, but I don't think it will happen, unfortunately.

If another station in town would come up with a good sports format, WGR would be in real trouble

No competition breeds contemptible hosts like the two on 4-7 on GR. I can't stand to listen anymore. So is Buffalo such a one horse town that those two clowns have no fear of losing their 'jobs, ever'? .

  7. Sal and Bulldog are at least somewhat listenable. I think if they found a decent partner for Sal the show would be much better. WGR much be happy with Schoop since he's still there. Besides look at all of the postings in this thread. As some say, there is no bad publicity.

In my case there is. If Schoop's on, I'm off. Worst radio host encountered in my entire life. I'm 68.

  8. Anyone else wonder if Marrone will accidentally sabotage the OL which will shut down the offense so the team goes winless, Gus is fired mid-season, he takes over as interim HC, "changes the culture" by signing St. Orton for the last 8 games, goes 4-4 to end the season, and is a top HC candidate in 2015 because St. Doug just pulled off another miracle by winning in buffalo AND Jacksonville.

He's used up his lifetime supply of miracles.

    Marrone, I mean.

  9. SJF is probably the optimal location (and I say this as a Fredonia alum) but they need to nix the bus.

I'm a goddam adult and want to come and go on my on schedule and not be crammed into some sweltering yellow box with a bunch of other people.

I always park at Nazareth college and walk but it's near 2 miles from parking lot to field.

  10. This board will be really lit up when Rex's D isn't top 4 like Schwartz. Almost a must fail expectation, with the third D coordinator in three years. Anyhow, I don't expect good things from the Ryan administration....I give him three years max and then out of town like the last 6 HC's. Frankly, I hated Rex when he was in NY as a blowhard media darling.....and I still feel that way about him. Going to be hard for me to continue to follow Bills after may decades. This is the second worst hire ever for HC.....(Harvey Johnson was the worst) Most on this board don't even remember Harvey, and thats a good thing.

This may the most inaccurate prediction of the whole topic, which is really saying something!
