  1. My God! I hope they never cry! How awful! Now I'm off to rescue a kitten, there must be one in trouble somewhere!!
  2. Pretty embarassing to the state of Virginia, though!
  3. Oh? Do I look bad to you? That just breaks my little heart! Really it does, boo hoo
  4. And really, I'm not laughing at her, I'm just enjoying her misery
  5. I'm sure she will survive. Bet she has thicker skin than you give her credit for.
  6. He's using them for a political prop, so they are fair game. He used them in a real tacky tv commercial too, I believe.
  7. Sure, let's just stay and spend ourselves into bankruptcy!
  8. Difference is we win in California and New York, you guys win in Mississippi and Alabama There is a difference
  9. LOL, I kind of admire and laugh at the GOP wire pullers. They know just what to do to excite the ignorant mind of the poor whites.
  10. Which very well might happen! Did you see how many Senate seats the GOP has to defend in 2008? A lot more than Dems do. The executive race is wide open! But both parties will run moderates, or die. Who will GOP run?
  11. Do you think Terri Schivo's 'absentee Ballot' should be counted?
  12. Oh, if the GOP just turns into obstructionists they will pay. If I'm the Dem leadership I try and work with the Conservatives. If they don't want to play nice I start passing bills that will have huge public support--minimum wage increase, alternative energy funding, a time table for Iraq, Soc Sec reform that works--and force the senate to filibuster or Bush to veto. Democrats also can hold the power to investigate over the head of Bush. There are tons of things that can be investigated. Its a threat, for now
  13. Ummmmm......you just got a raise?
  14. But, really, isn't this one of the biggerConservative defeats in the nation? Conservative South Dakota rejects an abortion measure. I bet this is a bigger shock to the fundies than Foley and that Gay Preacher. This has been a staple issue for them. I think an anti-Gay amendment was defeated in Arizona or someplace, too
  15. Well, the good thing is Bush isn't running for anything now, so maybe he will work with the opposition. Who knows? Iraq could be the poison that ruins that. But he did make a significant gesture today with Rummy.
  16. I agree with that, and hopefully they can work together enough to pass alternative energy bills, social security reform, medicare reform and a few other major pieces of legislation. Lots of challanges ahead
  17. Well, I'm a Democrat but if the Presidential election were Hillary vs Rudy G I'd take Rudy. He is a really good man and has a proven track record at many levels of getting things done. Of course he would never survive a southern primary, the road to the GOP nomination goes through the South
  18. I have seen many Conservative commentators and internet posters saying the Conservatives lost their base because they strayed away from Conservative values. But I don't think so. I believe the Conservatives will generally turn out pretty much no matter what. The defection of moderates and independents was the key it seems to me. And really, what could Conservatives had done more of? Cut pork spending to their home districts? That really would have worked!
