  1. Seems there are a lot of differing opinions on Troup so here's mine.

With a lot of spare time lately I have replayed most of the second half of the season and what I saw of Troup was:

1)player who got more and more time on the field.

2 most snaps he took on double teams and held his gap pretty well, althought he didn't get a lot of upfield pressure(lack of strength)he rarely was pushed back

3)diagnosed most plays and made good effort in pursuit, had some trouble disengaging from blocks

    4) made a few decisive stops, didn't look lost, didn't take plays off and overall as a rookie I think he showed very good

From the tone of a lot of posts here I get the feeling you all expected a second round DT to play like a first pick of the draft.

I saw a young player who got better and better that could become a very big part of our defense for years to come.

  2. So what's up with JP back in town working out with the guys....homesick for Blo?

O.K., I could be down with him as our back up QB, I've seen worse.

and as a side note; I don't blame JP for that rollout fumble, I blame Dimwit Dickie.

  3. Ball security that is.

Bills lead the AFC in interceptions lost

Bills lead the AFC in fumbles lost

Between the Bills and the AFC leaders( Pats/ Steelers) was a 34 turnover differential....That is 34 possible scoring drives.

Keep that stat and you end up at 4-12

Play off teams keep the ball and finish drives.

  4. Dukes was a udfa out of Florida in 86 that started about 50 games out of a 8 year career on Falcons team that never went over .500. Started 6 games for GB in 96 .Ended career with crappy Cardinals team in 97.How he got a job as an NFL "expert" only God and Rich Eison know. I have noticed he is becoming more and more full of himself with every season on NFL network and that is a BIG crapper to fill.

  5. Very nice interview, well done Nick.

Did I hear Aaron correctly, that he received a personal welcome to the Bills from Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly,HOF RB Thurman Thomas and Future HOF Receiver Andre Reed ?

That has to be pretty cool for a rookie. How many other teams do you think have former superstars doing that around the league?

Do you think they reached out to all of the Bills draft picks?

  6. Not to pee in your cheerios....

Why because Marcel Darius is replacing Marcus Stroud, and someone else is replacing Whitner, if that someone else is already on the team.... why then wasn't he starting ahead of Whitner if he is better? Rookies are supposed to made a bigger impact then the starters from last year. Did one player start from last years draft... on one of the worst Bills defense ever fielded.

Actually Troup, Carrington and Moats played quite a bit last year, maybe not listed as starters but saw as much time later in the season rotating in.

I think CJ started a game when Fred was hurt too.

  7. If he shows anything in the preseason, I think they'll keep him on the roster.

I could be caught up in the hype but I know he's generated a ton of fan interest and the Bills seem quite happy with the pick…the Practice Squad would not be a safe haven for a diamond-in-the-rough like Jasper.

Also, the new CBA is speculated to include an increased roster size, so there's that too.

Why risk losing him on the PS.

  8. If we can keep our wanted free agents, if we sign one or two quality FA's.....

If DW can help turn around the D, maybe get them to .500 ......

If we aren't hit by the injury bug....

If the O can repeat 2010 production.....

Then, I don't see why the playoffs are not within reach. I mean doesn't that have to be our goal this year.

A Team or fanbase can't go into a season already admitting defeat.

  9. Listening as I type…he mentioned that he got down to 395 pounds…but the interview is from March 12th.

He compares himself to Vince Wilfork.

    Keep listening!!!!

OK,OK it was Jerry Rice, and Jasper says he's got "soft" receiver hands.

  10. I recall something about a 5.6 40 time so he will at least be able to run down Tom Brady and Ryan Mallot...lol.

Correction..according to Bills pre draft work out he runs 5.38

    http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/NT-Jasper-brings-gigantic-intrigue/1441bfd2-c3b5-4aae-a893-c2872093c105

Paea ran a 5.15, Jets drafted Kendrick Ellis ran 5.28,Phil Taylor 5.14

For his size "The Shadow" runs like the wind.

Todays article only adds to the legend.
