  1. Walmarts do the pee test. The Publix supermarkets in fl. do mouth swabs. I understand the mouth swabs detect thc up to 6 months after use.

Cycling on the sidewalk is probably more dangerous than Pot. You can hurt yourself and others. Pot on the other hand not so much

My son skateboarded into a mailbox once.....20 stitches. Not sure if he was high .

  2. For Pot

    http://tracking.si.com/2012/04/19/nfl-prospect-mike-adams-tested-positive-for-marijuana-at-combine/

seems minor TO ME. If he drops to #41, I have no problem with taking him.

    my 2 cents

He could fall even lower, he is really a 2nd,3rd rnd talent anyway by most ranking, with the reports this close to the draft, although teams have probably known longer. Just all the hype about LT needs in this draft driving players up.

  3. Hope we keep building the D. The DL line looks set but LB and CB is still a concern to me. We have to be able to get past the Cheats to go anywhere post season. They seem to beat us up most 10-15 yrds down field with TE's and WR under routes. I'd feel a whole lot better with Kuechy than Scott.Sorry Bryon I know we just resigned you, maybe as back-up.

Gilmore might still be there at 10, but I don't think he's a good value that high or that much better than what will find at 41.

  4. If pot is not addictive then why can't Jenkins give it up? Yeah it may not have the physical addiction that alcohol does but it does have a mental addiction. Why else would all these athletes risk so much money to smoke it? Something is pushing them.

I may be old school but still draw a line between physical addiction (i.e.opiates and substances which require maintainance for the physical body to function ) and habits, good or bad which result in a psychological need. The later could be anything from pot to food to sex. Pot smokers don't go into convulsions when they don't smoke. They enjoy the euphoric feelings of the high or the calming effect to deal with their environment. A psychological dependence may be just walked away from by most but some people need professional help. It is not the habit that has them in need but the underlying conditions which makes them feel as though they have need in the first place. Like saying after a bad day," boy I need a drink." Although alcohol is a bad example here because it is one of the phyically addictive drugs (i.e. dilerium tremors associated alcoholics.)So in that regard pot-good , alcohol-bad.

I would venture to guess that many of these young men come from less than desirable surrounding and have chosen one escape over another. Since it's difficult to walk in another mans shoes we sometimes loose sight of the big picture.

I hope I haven't offended anyone here, I'm not an expert, just trying to explain things the way I perceive it.

I'd be interested in how others here feel, but I see this thread has taken us down a side road.

  5. Jin, I'm not against marijuana use and I'm not gonna judge Jenkins.

However, I'd like your view on the incident in Gainesville where Jenkins was tased outside a nightclub and subsequently kicked off the Florida football team.

After that, I'd like to know your view on the fact that he has 4 kids with 3 different women.

Keep in mind the above two points have nothing to do, at least directly, with the marijuana incidents (some claim that THC is an aphrodisiac).

I am also not for or against( do think it should be personel choice)

I've talked to some Gator alum who feel (although he was guilty of a bar fight, and caught smoking others have been as bad and)he was used to set an example for the new regime.

If we get a few good years ala Travis Henry.....who cares, it'll keep the kids off foodstamps.

  6. I'm not seeing the article in a quick search but it came out in jan/feb that he lied to the coach at NA when discussing wanting a second chance, including not admitting he had kids during his "come to Jesus and tell me everything" session in the recruitment process. Kids been a low life and a liar the whole way through and done nothing but let his teammates and coaches down. But he runs fast. And hasn't had a public positive test in a year.

Guess the discussion about his character remains up in the air, he probably will be gone by #41 anyway.Or he could become another player in the very long line of Bills second round gems.Fun to speculate though.

  7. Odd, as he never told coach about his kids even, that they'd be so confident in anything else he told them. Unless, I suppose, they have an interest in saying he was good.

Don't think he's made his kids a secret, in interviews its all about being sorry, humbled, his mom , the kids and better tommorow. Guess he could just be saying that but he has been on a strict drug testing reg. for well over a year.

  8. I would be very leery of either Floyd or Jenkins. That being said, Floyd did reportedly clean up his act for his final year and reportedly has stayed out of trouble, which is encouraging. Jenkins, on the other hand, reportedly kept smoking pot at Northern Alabama after being kicked out of U of Florida ( a major feat in an of itself - how much of a problem would a top athlete like Jenkins need to be to get kicked out of U of Florida?)

Note that I am not making a distinction between problems with alcohol or pot, just that one guy seemed to be making good decisions in his last year (after poor decisions earlier) and the other kept on making poor decisions as if they couldn't affect his future.

  9. People like you are sick. Jenkins is a flat out thug punk. Michael Floyd is 100x less a worry than that guy. Unreal.

Sick as in alcoholism is a disease? or sick as in pot is an addiction like tobacco( which it is not)?

I wouldn't make specific statements about Janoris's personel character unless you're on first name basis with Janoris.

If anyone is interested they may want to see THIS.

  10. OK .....To me Janoris Jenkins is a kid who has made some bad choices but.... if you think you could have a player that might turn out like a combination of Ronnie Lott and Lester Hayes in the 2nd would you pass on him because of that.I quess Ray Lewis would not make your team either.

and yes Kuechy will start somewhere at LB day 1 .

  11. Good luck landing Jenkins in the 2nd, David in the 3rd, Charles in the 4th and Mcnutt in the 6th

Great draft other than it being utterly impossible.

Actually pretty close to the Draftek mock as to what round the players go in except which team makes the pick.So it's probably not that impossible.

  12. Latest videos on Bills.com. they may have tipped their draft hand.

When asked about Wr; to paraphrase,we are deep but may take one later for competition.

About LT , we feel Hairston is a good starting LT for us but we need two for depth.

About Corner, we need a couple and if a shutdown corner were there we'd take him.

About what you want at #10,an IMPACT player that doesn't necessarily mean you have to start year one.

What to make of it.I don't think there is a shutdown corner aka Revis, Peterson in this draft.

Highest rated impact player that could be there at 10.....most likely Luke Kuechly.

    So I'm going

pick#10 1st Luke Kuechy ILB Boston college

pick#41 2nd Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama

pick#71 3rd Lavonte David OSLB Nebraska

pick#105 4th Matt McCants OT UAB

pick#124 4th Orson Charles TE Georgia

pick#144 5th Justin Bethal CB Presbyterian

pick#147 5th Andrew Datko OT Florida State

pick#178 6th Marvin McNutt WR Iowa

pick#217 7th Nick Foles QB Arizona

pick#251 7th Josh Ogelsby OT Wisconson

    As per Chris Brown:

Bills GM Buddy Nix, commented on Boston College LB Luke Kuechly, who is visiting 1 Bills Drive on a pre-draft visit today.

Nix was asked if Kuechly is more than just a middle linebacker.

“He could play all three (LB spots) for us,” said Nix.

The Bills GM also said that the strong side and weak side linebacker positions in Buffalo’s 4-3 defense are relatively similar in terms of skill set.

  13. I have to say that I rewatched a few of the bills games from last season and was really impressed with donald jones' ability to get past DBs on go patterns. He is raw, for sure, but he was beating DBs and making some catches. Maybe with a healthy ankle he can repeat that. After watching those games, I was ready to give my hopes of drafting Floyd (which doesn't look like it was an option anyway). My new hope is Marvin McNutt in the middle rounds. I was really impressed with his game when i watched his college games.

Mcnutt is undervalued, he's got great hands and is a gamer.I hope we get him , he is projected later rounds 4-6 . hope he's still there.

  14. If we can get enough Bill's fans to Miami for the Dec. 23 game, it could be like a home game. If the Dolphins are out of the playoff picture by then, the stadium will be empty. Perfect time for a Bills roadtrip, great Xmas present.

I can't wait, will for sure be going this year.Sushi anyone...
