Yeah, they've been "on pace" before.
They're inconsistent, simple as that.
They dissapear against real offensive lines.
-
Not the kind of player we need here.
-
They only missed the playoffs once or twice during that span.

I wasn't old enough to see the glory years like you have.
I had to grow up with the likes of these names:
Jonathan Linton, B.J. Hobert, Todd Collins, Antowain Smith, Rob Johnson, Sean Moran, Darryl Porter, Ken Irvin, Marlo Perry, Chris Watson, and names of the like.
My support has never wavered, and will never waver.
I plan to be a STH until this team loves, which won't, as I suspect, happen for a long time.

Anything to get Kelsey out at DE.

Damn right.
I plan on getting season ticks next year regardless of what happens from here on in.
I support this team no matter what happens, and that will NOT change.

Why are you breaking your post into parts like a teenage poet? Nate will take less than 10 ... I bet he will take around 6-8 ... Pro-Bowl is a popularity thing. Nothing more. Moorman deserved to be in for years, McGee ... etc Ruben Brown made it for years and he wasnt as good as some other players.
A. Because it's more legible than putting it all together, much easier and quicker to read.
B. If Nate Clements says he wants to be the highest paid corner, then the benchmark is Champ Bailey's deal, which is an average of 9 million per year. I highly doubt Nate has lowered his expectations since then.

No more white DT's.

Nate says he wants to be the highest paid corner in the league.
Currently, Champ Bailey is, getting a 7yr/63 million dollar deal.
Nate will want, according to him, around 10 million per year deal.
That's a 2.8M dollar raise over this year, for a CB who has only made the Pro Bowl once in his career, as an alternate. You think Nate deserves this raise?
Not to mention Willis McGahee is going to want a new deal soon, as his contract is up after next year.
Real smart spending.

Your posts are getting worse and worse.
Every team in the NFL including the Bills know that Clements is worth more than mcFarland. There is a reason why Tampa is putting him on the trading block. He is injured often and gets very few sacks (ie: no pressure on the qb) ... the Bucs would have to include another player or a draft pick for us to give up Clements. Thus the trade does not make sense for us.
What you dont understand is that Clements has a lot of value in this league and once he is a free agents MULTIPLE teams will be offering him good money for hiss services. Fox pre-game said as much in the pregame saying he will be probably the best Free Agent on the market.
We have to get something out of him.
Do you realize the trading deadline is this Tuesday?
We're just going to let Nate walk? With absolutely nothing in return?
Marv has already stated that we will not franchise him again. Just take what you can get for him.
As you can see, we're not a very "on the brink" team with a 2-4 record, and NE coming in next week off of a bye.

It would depend on the situation ... in our situation - YES!
We keep giving up good players because we dont want to pay them and think we can pick up a couple other players for the same ammount of money we could pay the one. Thus Winfield and Pat Washington is gone. Pat Washington would do wonders for our run defense right now huh???? Pay the darn player and you still have 12 million to do with how you please.
Pat doesn't / didn't fit our system.
If you could build a good pass rush, you won't need to have as good CB's. Imagine if we got McFarland, who has experience in our D, paired with Tripplett. Have Schobel on the outside, and draft Gaines Adams in the Draft.
Judging by our performance today, we'll be in a prime spot to pick him.
Can you imagine that pass rush we could generate? We could have Chris Watson and Darryl Porter back there, and still be successful.
We know this team isn't going anywhere this year, but if we can build up the trenches now, it will benefit us in the long run.
That's why I'm in favor of this trade.

This shows your lack of football knowledge ... a CB plays his side. RARELY does a CB have an assignment to a particular receiver. If you noticed Clements did cover Williams a few plays. When he was on his side. Heck even little kids who play Madden know this ... default is your CB plays a side and if you want you can switch up and give him a particular assignment towards a receiver. But either way stop saying Clements got torched because your making yourself look like a tard.
Quick question.
Is Clements worth the 7.2M he is getting paid, which is what the thread is about.
Factor in all his performances thus far.
