The throw was bad but Wrights weak arm at third contributed as well. Having defensive liabilities at 3 infield positions will catch up to you eventually.

Good call. That entires series the Royals exposed the Mets deficiencies with the glove.

The Nationals pitching staff will be well rested for the Series.

Take a look at the history of teams who swept in the LCS and then had to wait a week to play in the WS. It does not bode well for the Nats.

Royals won that series because they had a lineup of hitters who ALL put the bat on the ball.  Very few strikeouts.  AND they played excellent defense.  Very similar to last year's Red Sox.

Mets defense (specifically Daniel Murphy at 2B) cost them early in the series.  KC was simply the better team.

The Yankees/Astros game last night showed us how important those two things are, because they Yankees struck out a lot with RISP and their defense was atrocious.

As happens most times in the LDS and LCS, the better teams are winning.  Better pitching, better (more disciplined) hitting and better management will win a 7-game series 9.999 times out of 10.

I still have nightmares if that throw home by Duda. ??‍♂️

No doubt the layoff often hurts hitting, but I respectfully disagree that it doesn't help the pitching. Setting up your rotation can be a huge help. The more they pitch Scherzer and Strasburg the better chance they'll have.

They've used Scherzer and Strasburg out of the pen once each and Corbin twice. I don't think they trust their bullpen, nor should they.

See 2015 Mets. Although the Royals weren’t loaded with pitching,  they just won with just good enough pitching, timely hitting and great defense.

I think that with a healthy Darnold they are between a 7 and 9 win team.  Darnold looked pretty good and I think the Bills caught a break with his mono

Absolutely agree and he has some help and weapons on his side of the ball. They also seemed to play a lot more inspired yesterday too with him behind C.

George Burns lived to 100 and never stopped.

Excellent article and I just posted response to it.

Yup. Quite the outlier he was! My grandfather too although he was never at 3 packs a day but smoked and drank till he died at 95.

    Very cool article!

I watched TZ in syndication as a teenager. I went to grad school in Binghamton, where Rod Serling grew up, and attended a Rod Serling festival that featured a talk by Helen Foley - the high school teacher who encouraged him to become a writer, and for whom one of his characters was named. While I was there I bought a book - The Twilight Zone Companion - that gives a synopsis of every episode. I still have it, sitting on the bookshelf above my desk.

As someone who is Binghamton born and raised and still reside here, Serling will always be known as this areas most famous resident. Many of his Twilight Zone episodes were based on his childhood days of growing up on the west side and his experiences during adolescence.

My grandmothers brother went to school and graduated with Serling and spoke very highly of him. It’s not secret that his WWII experience really had a profound effect on him after he came home like many WWII vets at the time. I’ve always been fascinated with Rod Serlings life because of his ties to Binghamton and Upstate, NY.

While The Twilight Zone was his most famous work, Night Gallery often gets overlooked.

    Unbelievably cynical and depressing.

One guy on this board was upset that we haven't had a 300 yard passer in years.

Just had a huge home opener win to remain undefeated and he went online and posted a new topic on how embarrassed he is.

    Some people.....

His Yankee and Cub takes on Twitter are absolutely the worst. His fan card should be revoked for coming across as such a bitter crumrudgeon that roots for a team with 27 rings and has not had a losing season in over 27 years.  Add in the Cubs recent success and he's truly unbearable.

That’s because that’s their only good song.

Did Queensryche have their original singer, Geoff Tate?   I saw them, again, at a free show at Mohegan Sun 3 years ago but without him.  They were good but it wasn’t the same.

No more Tate unfortunately but valiant effort by the new guy! Very good job!

and Agree on Autograph completely but it was hilarious, like a bunch of ants teaming up on a melted popsicle

    There's more than just that.

IIRC, the Bills do not play a team that is coming off of a bye this year. Also, the Eagles at Bills game is the Bills' 3rd home game in a row, while it's the Eagles' 3rd straight road game. The Bills have already had the benefit of the Jets and Giants missing key offensive weapons, and AJ Green may not suit up next week, especially since the Bengals have a divisional matchup with Pittsburgh in week 4.

The back end if the Bills schedule looks pretty tough, although Pittsburgh may not be as difficult as we thought. The first half of the Bills schedule is pretty decent. If the Bills have less than 5 wins going into the 2nd half, they'll have a tough time getting into the playoffs, but they could easily have 5 or 6 wins by then IMO.

If the Bills are for real, they'll win a few of those tough games down the stretch.

What’s funny about that stretch in the  Eagles schedule is that did that because they anticipated the Sillies errr I mean the Phillies making a deep October run in MLB playoffs and since their stadiums are next to each other they wanted to avoid a logistical nightmare.

Phillies and their 350 million dollar baby Harper  all but done and there won’t be any post season baseball in Philly haha!

If you want some good laughs, I suggest looking up/following Funhouse on twitter. He records Francesa’s show and calls him out on his BS all the time along with some others on WFAN. Also, the prank callers have me dying at times.
