  1. I love Marshawn. He is a beast on the field, has a great attitude. I hope the bills can work some more receiving out of the backfield in with him this season. Great football player!

Welcome! Is your screen name in response to poor Sir Paul?

He coulda had that one-legged goldigger whacked for the equivalence of next months rent in some areas...

    Just sayin'..

  2. Bill, I'd love to see him here. I agree with most everyone that he's a tad over the top, but he's a 4X Pro Bowler still in his prime. I'd be concerned that he seems to love the spotlight, and it's not very bright in Buffalo. Looks like it will take a 2nd and something else, though I'd call the G-men's bluff. They obviously didn't miss him..

  3. Agreed. Titans would have just had to kneel down a few times and go on to fall one yard short of tying the SB. The QB change was made to give the team a chance to score points in the playoffs. No one in the organization believed Flutie could do that. In spite of a saftey, Johnson delivered the lead on the road against an undefeated home team with 16 ticks left.

I, too, believe the Bills would have fared better in the SB.

  4. I don't want to join in and blast you, but do you really think Franks poses a threat? He has done nothing for years now.

I can't say for sure. No one can. My frustration lies in no one being invited in for consideration. The Jets have added an experienced TE who they think will help their young QB. It's a tactic I had hoped the Bills would employ for Edwards. IMO, Gaines was our best TE threat last year and he walked. Obviously, there's a lot of folks here convinced Franks doesn't know when to hang 'em up. But we'll face him twice next year as part of a revamped Jet offense. We'll see then.

  5. I think we have some decent veterans in Royal and Anderson. It's time for a young stud rookie to come in and shake things up. Relax my friend, the offseason is far from over.

I agree, they're serviceable. But they pose no real threat and opposing SS's just walk right up into the box.

I retract 'losing hope'. I hope we draft a phenom.

  6. Yeah, those 18 receptions last year were a big vote of confidence from Farve...

Yeah, yeah.. Crumpler, Utecht, Franks. You and OBD appear convinced none of them rated a stop by during FA. The likelyhood that all three of these tesed TE's fails miserably next year -where a rookie is a better option than all three of them- doesn't make much sense to me.

Tell me how you're not frustrated that these two glaring deficiencies haven't been addressed with at least some veteran influence. Where's the pie in the sky?

  7. Bubba Franks = past prime

Perhaps. But a veteran, cagey TE WHO CAN CATCH, in the twilight of his career still tops anything we've had this century. IMO. Maybe you're right. Maybe the FO feels like you -that this very dependable, veteran team guy doesn't have anything left in the tank. Maybe.

I think Favre may beg to differ..

I've been quitely hoping since the start of FA that the Bills would address all 3 of their ridiculous needs: DT, WR & TE. Now that there's absolutely no one left we have to hope rookies will lift our embarrassing offense to some level of respectability. WR & TE are not positions that rookies typically come in and make a major difference. To say nothing of one of each on one team..:thumbsup:

For me, I'm done hoping and less than satisfied.

  9. Look at picks 1, 2, and 3 to answer your questions

Also... I STILL only see Tight End as a marginal need. Robert Royal has done mediocre at his position, great at blocking, decent with the hands, so above that I only see WR and CB as the GLARING needs.

So... WR/CB in rounds one and two (unless we go Kelly/Sweed and Davis) then TE.

Sadly, I'm sure many have come to believe this because the team has done virtually nothing to secure a top notch Tight End this century. Yes, we all hoped 3rd rounder Kevin Everett would be that big time TE we've never had but he couldn't stay healthy and there's been no real effort before or since. Personally, I think there's a true correlation between a TE that has to be accounted for/reckoned with and team success. At least we know for certain that no TE threat and losing go hand in hand.

    It's all in the Kool-Aid...

  10. well we need somebody. Can't rely alone on a rookie #2 - at least need a guy to compete with him and back him up. Hackett? - I don't know why we haven't shown interest yet, our options are getting slim

I thought Hackett signed with Tampa Bay.

    Getting very slim..

Hey! I just heard the sky is falling! No link though..
