  1. I'd like to see someone put together a comprehensive list of stats that compare how teams have performed in the preseason relative to their regular season performances. I'm willing to bet there is a fairly good correlation.

"The Colts have a 4-22 record in the preseason since 2005, but have a 65-15 regular-season record during the same span." from an article dated 9/6/10.

  2. Where are we at 4:00 with the draft status? What do we need to happen??

I believe we need Denver to win, What else???

If Denver wins we pick 2 or 3 based on tie breakers with Cinci. If Denver loses we pick 3 or 4 based on tie breakers with Cinci.

Tie Breaker with Cinci is based on the following:

    1) SOS.

    2) Conference record (We will end up tied here as well)

    3) Coin toss

Our opponents currently have one more win than Cinci's opponents, so we need to gain at least one more loss based on the following.

We need Jax to lose. Our man Trent may actually help us here!

    Colts to Win

If Denver losses with the above we pick 3.

If Denver wins with the above we are in a coin toss with Cinci for #2.

There are some other scenarios if Jax wins where we can move up to 3, but the big ones are Jax loss and Colts win.

  3. Re-building is fine and I would much rather prefer getting a top level QB in next year's draft than missing out going 5-11.

I'd rather get as many wins as we can. Drafting a QB in the top 10 of the draft is very risky business. Here is a list of the QBs taking in the top 10 of round one since 1980. Pro Football Refernce Top 10 QBs

Lots of scary names in there. I would only want about 25% of them as my franchise quarterback with the hind sight we now have.
