  1. 20 year FSU fan here. Got to watch every game last year. NB is extremely talented and should have been a first rounder but with a few scheme changes and his own knucklehead behavior it cost him. He's a big hitter and has a nose for the ball. Very instinctual but a little stiff. Does not sift thru the trash well, he is 1 st round talent when you combine all the positives, can be Cowart 2.0 but faster and bigger.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the insight.

  2. Snippet from WalterFootball: "4/25/12: Bradham played well in 2011, becoming the first Seminole since Marvin Jones to lead the team in tackles for three straight seasons. Bradham had 86 tackles with 9.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, three passes broken up, two interceptions and a forced fumble this year. He played well against Miami and Oklahoma.

Bradham is fast and physical, but his awareness and instincts can be off at times. He played well at the Senior Bowl and had an excellent Combine. Bradham blazed a fast 40 time did reasonably well in the field drills."

Led FSU in tackles for 3 years. Speaks volumes about this kid.

  3. No to Martin. He's not plug and play nor am I convinced he is capable.

I've done a complete 360 on Martin. Used to want him at 10. However, as I researched, I kept hearing negative things about him. Why use your 2nd on a guy some people think will never be capable of playing LT? We can get an OT with questions in the 3rd. Why not take an OLB who the scouts have nothing but good things to say about? David is my guy. Draft McCants in the 3rd.

  4. I don't think you can take much from that picture. Alshon has always had a sloppy body, it's just the way he's built, and if you look at that picture, Marcus Lattimore(21) actually looks out of shape too--which is a hilarious notion. We switched to skin tight uniforms this year and it really didn't do Jeffery any favors.

All kidding aside, don't you have any concerns about taking a WR with weight issues? Picks are so precious, it scares the crap out of me because you don't know which guy you're getting--sloppy Alshon or chiseled Alshon (BTW thanks for your in put in the Gilmore thread, it was very informative).

  5. sanu is not nicks. no way

Here's one scouting report that disagrees with your opinion: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/college_player_scouting_report.html&player=41798 Found this quote from a paper: "Other scouts have compared Sanu to current New York Giants star Hakeem Nicks." (sure you'll be OK with the article because it notes that Todd McGay believes Sanu is overrated) http://newbrunswick.patch.com/articles/which-nfl-team-will-draft-rutgers-star-sanu Though I don't hold myself out as anything other than a passionate fan, I've watched both guys on multiple occasions (Jersey boy) and to my untrained eye, I believe Sanu will develop into a WR like Nicks. Let's check back in 4 years, perhaps I'll be wrong.

With Jeffery you get someone who routinely dominated your first round pick

At the all you can eat Chinese buffet? Please take a look at this picture: http://mobile.dawgsbynature.com/2012/2/15/2801296/anyone-who-wants-alshon-jeffery-needs-to-see-what-he-looks-like-far

  6. Quick is my favorite player in the draft, i would love him in the third...maybe lavonte david falls to us in the second? that would be a god-send

    Super Bowl or Bust

That would make my day too!!! Then we use one of our 4th rd picks to get OT help and BPA it for the rest of the draft.

  7. Casserly summed it up best about Jeffery--stay away from a guy with a weight issue and let someone else look like a genius. IMHO, where there's smoke there's fire. BTW--aren't any of you concerned about the fact that nearly every scout indicates Jeffery has issues getting separation off the line? No reason to take a risk on him when there are plenty of quality WRs available this year.

  8. They trade that pick for Osi Umenyora of the Giants.

In return for a 3rd round pick we get to rent Osi for the last year of his contract after which he will leave us when we justifiably refuse to overpay him for his last chance at a pay day. I'd rather draft our replacement for McGee/McKelvin/et al, our #2 WR or our OLB than to have Osi next year (and I'm an Osi fan, watch him each week from my home in Jersey).

  9. I'm a trade down kinda guy and barring some miracle we ain't got a partner to trade down with. As I indicated, there are plenty of big WRs so I don't see us trading up for Randle (maybe Hill, though i did have some fun mocking this very move). Fleener is intriguing because he would produce from day one but I think the Gronk/Hernandez flavor of the month is driving up the value of these TEs. Regardless of the target, trading up is going to cost us David or Wagner (our 2nd) and the BPA CB (e.g., Trumaine Johnson, Casey Hayward, Dwight Bentley). That's too rich for my blood!! Maybe next year we'll be ableto afford to make a move like this.

  10. I thought we're trading back into the 1st so we can draft Stephen Hill. C'mon, Hill supporters wake up. BTW where are all the Alshon Jeffery people?

Buddy has been consistent on at least two points regarding this draft: (1) DE talent is weak (hence our bold FA moves); and (2) there is depth at WR--which is why we won't be trading up to grab Randle or any other WR. Fleener is the only player I'd trade up for. You give Fitzpatrick Floyd and Fleener to complement Stevie, Freddie/CJ , Chandler and you've got some nice, young talent at the skill positions on offense.

  11. Of course you make the trade. He's a legit stud LT in ANY draft who is worth giving up a 2 even if he"only" last 7 years. The beauty of our FA signings means we now have the flexibility to make moves like this. As Buddy noted, there is depth at WR so no need to panic there. We can still nab our OLB with our 3rd and then add a CB with one of our 4s and go BPA for the rest of the draft. Now that I've wasted all this time typing, Kalil ain't dropping that far.
