  1. If I could trade wm and nc for a francise type o-lineman I would do it. Does anyone see either of these guys staying here after their contracts run out, and maybe the better question is does anyone think we will be ready to compete this year before we lose these guys for nothing?

I wouldn't want to hand the reigns over to gates just yet but A-train is a solid veteran while we see what we have with gates. We are also very deep in the secondary, I wouldnt lose any sleep with greer or baker getting more playing time.

That said this will never happen, but I dont understand all of the bashing of this tbone for his post- his post was extremely positive compared to most here.

  2. "Against the Bengals, JP will get a chance to play with and against the starters and if he proves to be productive, I sit him most of the game declare him starter after an adequate performance last night and a good short performance against Cincy. This would be great because JP then gets a chance to start and play a bunch in my 3rd pre-season game which traditionally is when the team really works of in season production and the starters all play well into the second half. In the last game the starters start but it is to be hoped are productive in their first series and sit to avoid injuries."

So you don't think nall will get a chance to start a game?

  3. The Panthers brought Buffalo's Josh Reed in for a two-day visit in March, but he chose to stay with the Bills for a four-year, $10-million pact. The Panthers weren't offering that kind of coin for a complementary player.

They were looking at the 5-foot-10, 208-pounder as more of a replacement for Ricky Proehl.

Thus spurned, they turned their sights to Johnson, who signed a four-year, $14-million deal less than a week later.

For not that much more money, relatively speaking, they got quite an upgrade

Who would you rather have at this point in their carrer. For the bills who are "rebuilding" I think reed is a better fit. If jr ever becomes as productive a kj I will be happy.

Johnson is exactly the type of possesion reciever reed should try to become.

  4. was reading that the falcons have 2 players that i think would make the bills respectable going into next season.  qb matt schaub and rb tj duckett contracts are up at the end of the year.  both would look good in bills uniforms.  schaub is very good.  duckett would make our rb spot with willis maybe the most feared in the league.  duckett will be expendable with the emergence of the rookie norwood.

    your thoughts

Hopefully after jp emerges this year we won't be talking about bringing in another qb.

I have always liked the way duckett runs, he is a beast. I really think we have something special in gates.

  5. ..Willis will have a BIG year. With the new offense and his reduced weight, I think we'll see the Miami Hurricane Willis.

Oh, and there's that contract thing, too.

    BRING IT ON, WILLIS!

I agree. Unfortunately probably his last in buffalo. Hopefully we have something in gates.

  6. Catch of the day

Roscoe Parrish however, made the catch of the day when while coming across the middle at full speed he stopped on a dime and twisted his torso to reach back behind him to pull in a pass over the middle with both hands from Kelly Holcomb and then got back up to full speed in about two strides.

I also like how that sounds!

  7. I think all you have to do is look at our recievers to see who the starting quaterback will be. With all that speed and no em it will be jp.

I'm exited to watch our vertical passing attack, we will have quite a few big plays this year which will strech the field and help our running game.

I think having kh at qb really hurts the running game because there is really no deep threat.

  8. I'm not sure the Bills did the right thing with this draft pick, and do you think they should have gone in a different direction?

You Know thats a great question that I dont think anyones really thought about. Hmmmmm.

  9. Just to reiterate, driving back from VA Beach to richmond tonight heard this, have not had the time to verify yet. Vernon Davis, a rookie with exactely ZERO snaps in the NFL, is now the highest paid tight end EVER. Yep, this dude makes more than Tony Gonzalez, who many consider the best tight end of the last ten years.

Man, is this system outa whack or what? I cannot believe the current leadership and rank and file membership of the NFLPA would not have wanted to address this mess in the CBA. It just makes no sence to me that unproven rookies are paid more than guys who have already proved it on the field.

Am i the only one who finds that whacked?

I'm with you. It seems a$$ backwards. Its like the new guy at work making more than the top managers. <_<

  10. From what I hear at this too early stage to draw any conclusions anyone should take seriously (including mine which is simply a guesstimate) the final roster at WR is:

Evans, Price, Parrish I think there will be a lof of 3WR sets), Reed, (I think there will be a significant number of empty backfield sets), Aiken (who mostly will contribute with ST play) snd Fast Freddy or Davis depending on the injury situation.  I think Nance makes the team but as a PS player,

The good news is that this squad will need to cut at least one (if not two former NFL vets to get down to the roster limit and this means competition will be good and intense.

How this oddly shaped ball happens to bounce will determine quite a bit in terms of who get cut and who doesn't.

I agree. I think this is our strongest unit. Hopefully someone can get them the ball.

  11. Well, Sam Aiken is not going anywhere I can tell you.

You have Evans, Price, Reed, Aiken, Davis, Nance? What happens to Roscoe? Do we carry seven? Or perhaps Davis gets cut if he doesn't have a good camp.

Roscoe has Absolutely nothing to worry about. He is the most explosive of the group- and is electric on special teams. I'd say Nance goes or maybe Davis
