  1. Apparently, from what I have heard, Angelo Crowell and Kawika Mitchell are very good friends, and Crowell was one of the reasons why Mitchell came to Buffalo.

When you look at it in the grand scheme of things, Crowell is coming off of an injured reserve season, thus he does not have any immediate marketable value as of right now. Buffalo probably could sign him on the cheap, but still more than what others will offer him.

I place the odds at 60-40 in favor of re-signing him.

  2. Nearly three years have passed since Levy replaced the fired Tom Donahoe as GM. Ultimately, I believe Levy's legacy as GM depends on the first three picks of the 2007 draft: Lynch, Posluszny, and Edwards.

These decisions have all contributed to why the Bills are where they are:

    1. Hiring Dick Jauron as HC, who in turn brought Fairchild, Schonert, and Fewell with him. None of the coordinators can be considered imaginative or successful. All are or were part of a problem.

    2. The 2006 FA class, consisting of Tripplett, Royal, P. Price, Fowler, Reyes, Nall, A. Thomas, K. Thomas, Bowen, and Andre Davis, is nearly completely gone. Five are out of the NFL less than 3 seasons later.

    3. Allowing Nate Clements to leave without any compensation. As GB did with Corey Williams last year, NC should have been franchised with the intent of having more time to sign or deal him. Getting nothing in return is inexcusable.

    4. The 2006 draft has proven to be rather pedestrian. Whitner is not a playmaker, and McCargo is finished. Youboty is oft-injured, Simpson, Butler, and Williams are not great starters and should be replaced. Ellison is backup material. Trading a 2nd and 3rd for McCargo especially hurts.

    5. The 07 FA class is overpaid and continues to be underachieving. Dockery and Walker were an example of throwing money at a lingering OL problem. Here, the difference between ML and TD was the amount was spent on lineman.

Hiring Marv was lampooned in NFL circles, and while I think Levy took one for Ralph's team, he probably should not have. It was a public relations move designed to attract fans back to the team after five bad years of Donahoe. Ralph bought three seasons with it, but the gig is up. Levy's tenure as a HC was the high point of nearly 50 years of Bills football. His GM legacy was not, even if brief.

I agree with the statements about Dick Jauron, the coaching staff, and the '06 free agency class. I see where Marv was going by bringing in Triplett as he was coming off of a championship team and seemed to be a major factor in their ability to stop the run, though.

Now, you're Nate Clements comments just show that you have a misinformed opinion. We had already slapped the franchise tag on Nate once, and promised to let him walk after that one time. Now you may think that we were dumb for not slapping him with it again, but do you realize that every time you slap the franchise tag on a player after the first time the price tag goes up by $2 million each time? Nate would have been receiving more from the Bills than he is getting in San Francisco.

Whitner is a fine player, and is consistently around the ball looking to make a play, as well as filling the role of leadership in the locker room. Butler is the best right guard we have had in a while and no other back carries for more yards a carry in the NFL behind the right guard slots more than Lynch behind Butler. Kyle Williams is undersized but certainly not a horrible player and Keith Ellison was merely meant to be a special teamer.

I'm sorry, i realize that we just were handed one of the worst losses we could've imagined this season, but it certainly doesn't give you the right to make a mis-informed and idotic statement like this.

You are unhappy with the coaching staff? Fine, we all are. But to say that key players on this team and the smart moves our front office made concerning Clements, Dockery, and Walker are completely off balance simply wrong. I am pretty sure you can hear people in San Francisco asking why they paid so much for Nate Clements.

Just remember hindsight is always 20/20, and you sir are only proving the point.

  3. Yup, teams have figured us out when you can't run. Let's call a spade a spade and let's put the blame on the 1st rounder who can't break out of one game this year. You know and I know who he is. A first rounder should produce something with that talent, yet all the talk is on Trent.

Trent has had 3 bad games, and out of those 3 only one was terrible or Losmanesque. I don't seem to remember him having those under 100 yard games Losman would have, but I do know Lynch has failed to do anything to show real talent. So let's throw some blame where it should be. We all know Edwards is not Warner who can win without a running game, and we know Brees isn't doing so well without one despite his prolific numbers.

Why not look at this objectively and realize without a running game no QB, unless they are amazing and seasoned. If you want to find faults, look at "Beast-Mode". The guy lacks vision and runs like a burner without the jet packs.

There's your issue, and it has less to do with Trent and more to do with Marshawn.

Somewhere in your rambling and incoherant garbage, I realized that you don't seem to realize a few things.

    1. You don't know what you are talking about.

    2. Look at the line our backs get to run behind these past few weeks (Whittle, Preston, Chambers)

    3. With that line, defenses are able to load up the left side with minimal pressure on the right due to the lack of talent at those positions, thus we are only truly allowed to run to the left, where all the defensive players are.

Besides a couple of sentences and points in your rambling incoherant response, specifically the first sentence of the third paragraph, you raise an interesting concept but one that is too soon to call due to the success Lynch has had behind this same offensive line last year.

I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

  4. now if edwards has a horrible season god forbid, the same idiots that screamed for losman's head and to have edwards replace him will be screaming for the bills to draft Wiley because he's a "winner"

    that being said

    Go Bulls

Okay, Drew Willy is the one who lost us a chance to go to a bowl game last year because of his fumble on the three yard line against Bowling Green, although i do agree with your over all post on the level of stupidity on the board.

Promo, I agree with you as well, Drew Willy's interception in the fourth in the red zone absolutely killed our chances.

Over all, GO BULLS!!! Nothing like storming the field!

  5. I hope Peters bought Madden '09 because it will be the only football he plays this year. Jase, how's that new agent workin' out for ya?

    PTR

That is exactly what is wrong with this scenario. He signs a new agent whom does not receive any kind of money from Peters' current contract. Thus the agent pursades him to hold out in the hopes of getting his own personal payday, as opposed to representing his client to the best of his ability.

  6. I hate the dolphins just as much as any other bills fan. However, I decided this was a jersey I just had to have. Not only is it a conversation starter, but i'm sure it will be good for quite a few laughs. I plan to wear it to the Detroit game and maybe a few other games. I'm sure some people will heckle me at first until I turn around and they see the name on the back. Check it out.

    :thumbsup:My new Dolphins Jersey

That is disgusting, and I expect more from a Bills fan.

I hope after your forced dive into said porta-john, you realize, it is not a laughing matter to take shots at the Dolphins via referencing a movie that only insults the Bills last second loss to the Giants.

You disgust me. I can't say it any nicer than that.

  7. Quick little 2 cent moment here...four pages, and no one brought it up.

The article states that her lawyer is acting as if her continued seeking of medical care after the injuries, is some how causing her much debt. After all, the quote from the lawyer says that the injuries are much worse than the media presents them to be.

Does Canada not have free health care for all citizens?

Yes Lynch did not do the proper thing IF he was driving the car. IF he was he should pay her the miniscule amount for pain and suffering and pay her AMERICAN hospital bills.

We aren't looking at anymore than seven figures, and some community service, here people.

  8. Max needs to move on. Period. He is as inconsistent as anyone in a Sabres' uniform, turns over the puck like it's his job, his linemates never seem to know where the heck he is going or what he doing with the puck, is a defensive liability, and has all of 10 - 10! - goals this year.

Max Afinogenov actually has a better points/game percentage this season than Jochen Hecht.

It doesn't make sense that you guys talk about these veteran leaders and how we need their leadership, how solid of a player Hecht is and he should be our solid guy on the second line, when Afinogenov is our most veteran leader on our current roster and has better statistics on offense than Hecht.

Now, I have to admit originally I thought that Hecht was a free agent at the end of the year and that we were discussing paying him a chunk of change (Must have been the exhaustion).

If it were up to me, our lines would look something like this...

    Centers:

    Roy

    Connolly

    Hecht/Free Agent

    Hecht/Free Agent/ Mair

    Left Wing:

    Pominville

    Vanek

    Paille

    Kaletta

    Right Wing:

    Bernier

    Afinogenov

    Kotalik

    Stafford

    Defensive Pairings:

    Weber, Sekera

    Spacek, Kalinin

    Tallinder, Grandpa Teppo

Goal Tender: Ryan Miller (and for the love of christ cut Jocelyn Thibault)

  9. The fact that you think Afinogenov is vital to this team says a lot.

If you do not have someone to carry the puck into the zone when they line up defensively on the blue line, the Sabres are dead in the water. It was a huge problem until Max came back. Teams were lining up on the blue line and the Sabres would spend almost no time in the opposition's end. Unless the Sabres can find someone else to carry it into the zone, or come up with a different method besides dumping the puck in and losing on the forecheck, Max is a vital part of this team.

His post was so bad that I'm trying to figure out if he is (or just works for) Larry Quinn.

I'm sorry that I do not share your optimism about this team. But when you watch as much hockey as I have this season, just over 70 games, i think you start to see holes in the team that other occassional viewers may not see.
