Well, the regular season home opener was September 1, 1973, Jets at Bills. I found this:
My first Bills game! Dad dragged this seven-year-old to a snorefest of a game.
Edit: And I loved every minute of it!

I wasn’t able to pay close attention to the broadcast and missed some, but from what I heard, Matt Ryan was better than I expected.

I like PTI. Tony and Wilbon are fun to listen to, and they’ve been around long enough to have educated and informed opinions.
Yep. It’s the only one I’ve ever watched (for 20+ years now). Both are respected journalists and provide some insight on timely sports stories* while admitting their biases. I tried the other fools at one point or another and couldn’t take more than a few minutes.
*i wish one of them knew at least something about hockey.

Actually I think the play was designed to go to Harty to the right, and he would have had a walk-in TD. However, he slipped and fell so Josh had to improvise. Not impressed at all with him through the first 2 weeks.
I thought the same. It felt like Josh saw him slip and didn’t even look at Harty, though he was still wide open for a walk-in. -
I know I’m not the only one who saw sugar-high-Josh during the national anthem.

I’m as excited as the next guy about tonight, but it doesn’t feel like Jets week without a little Jimmy Spags.😀

One of the funniest lines of the WKRP in Cincinnati series.
The radio station had a Thanksgiving Day promotion where the station Mgr "released" live turkeys from a helicopter. His final comment was: "as God is my witness, I thought turkey could fly".

I agree with your sentiment, but I was initially worried about the conditions. In light of what @PromoTheRobot said about how it was not icy, I now think McD made the right call,
Ultimately, I trust the snap on the field goal more than from Van Rotten. It’s worth noting that the kneel down came after a shotgun snap, not under center—gave Josh more time to recover a bad snap.

Great win! I have very little tk add about that.
But this needs to be said and probably doesn’t need its own thread. Can we stop now with the sideline coach “interviews” to start the second and third quarters?
We’re all dumber for having to hear them.- 1

As long as we're airing our penalty grievances, the following scenario bothers me way more than it should:
- Offense has a third and four at the opponent's six yard line.
- Defense called for Offside.
- They mark the ball half the distance to the goal line, which I get, but it's now third and one at the three. It should be first and goal at the three with the penalty making up the yards toward the first down, like anywhere else on the field.
I'll put this on the agenda for the next owner's meeting. You're welcome.

Mine too, I think? October 17, 1966. 17-17 tie with San Diego. That's the game where kicker Booth Lusteg (a UConn product) missed three field goals, including a 23 yarder to win the game, with six seconds left, after the Bills came back from a 17-0 deficit.
Well, I realized that I can’t be correct. In fact, I’ve been living a lie about that game. I was less than a year old at the time. As a kid, my older brother and father talked about the “Get Hadl Dirty” game so much I must have adopted it as my own as a child. Yikes! My older brother just confirmed that I wan’t there—he and Dad were.
Kinda funny. I thought I was there for 40+ years. I’m not sure whether to thank or curse you.😀 -

Diversity in humor is probably a good thing. This skit? As others have said, it was mildly amusing for me at first but it never took the next step.
On the other hand, despite all the hate for Schumer, I find her raunch often funny. Last night’s opening monologue was the first time I laughed out loud watching SNL in a long time.

Same band.
i was “Zippy” on a previous board. Something happened to that username. (And no. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t banned—generally don’t post controversial stuff.) i then became “marangi” because I loved the guy for like two games as a kid. I then realized that I was using variations of “marangi” for passwords at the time, freaked out, and deleted the account. I settled on this when I decided to create another username. ,
Oh, I should note that “The Who By Numbers” was my first album as a kid and “Slipkid” was my favorite song for a while.

Thanks for the multiple encores, Shaw. My weekly reading for years.
Even by your high standards, this is brilliant!

Way different! The 85 Dolphins were a much better team than this year’s Dolphins.

Oh my and thanks for posting!
I just realized that I didn’t wear my early-1990s “game-day” Bills cap and absentmindedly and inexcusably wore my “weekday” cap.
I’m so sorry. That will never happen again!

I just think it’s completely lazy to type FA as opposed to free agent. It’s 7 additional characters. And typing, that takes about 1-2 seconds at the most. Even with my fat fingers and my iPhone I can’t type that whole thing out in about 3 seconds at the most.
laziness is destroying this nation.
Actually, it’s less than seven keystrokes if you consider the extra work you did to get the uppercase FA and the extra “n” added to the “a.”
But I’m not an NASA engineer, so what do I know?

If it were 1 post I would agree with youbut with 6 or more calling us idiots and sheep.
it would be a grade A Troll act.
Oh, I also only saw the one post. I guess that explains your lash out at my post.
But for the record, I think Brandt’s thing is getting old and annoying. The kids dig the “hot takes” these days, so here’s one.
Kyle Brandt is basically Nick Wright with a better cap.

I actually question if any of you like the Bills if you enjoyed that. Probably all became Bills “fans” over the last 2 years.
It was awful. Embarrassing. And nothing a real fan of the Buffalo Bills would enjoy.
I tend to agree with the the sentiment, but doubting the fandom of those who enjoy Brandt’s schtick isn’t a good look.
There’s plenty of room on the bandwagon—best to save some space for all.
