  1. First off, this is the first Bills game since the opener last year at NE that I and the guys I watch the game with were still interested in deep into the 4th quarter.

    The Good:

This offense did well today. Sorry to all those screaming about the OL, they looked good today. Great? No, but good. The last INT was not on Fitz, all the TE had to do was put his friggin hands up and it is a catch or an incomplete pass. The int in the endzone was just a bad overthrow.

Spiller! Showed on a couple runs, the return and such he needs to be out there more. Bring him along slowly my ass! Get the kid on the damn field!

The Route running by two of our WR's and the Running game. Great hard running, good route running, some nifty moves.

    The Bad:

Our secondary. Sorry folks if anyone thinks this secondary is all that they are sadly mistaken. open WR's for NE all over the field, 3 DB's around Moss on the TD.

    The Ugly:

This is hands down THE worst Defense we have fielded in this decade. Honest to God I don't think any member of our front 7 could start on another team. No pass rush, no real threat of it, no ability to stop the run and they all get pushed 5 yards downfield! Enough talk of OL issues, the OL needs some work but this Defense flat sucks.

We need so much help in the front 7 it will take two more offseasons of Drafting and free agency to get this defense up to speed IF we draft better than we did this last offseason.

Dante Whitner, get his ass off this team already. You are upset teams are laughing at you dante, you SUCK that is why. He is a bust of a first round pick and honestly a liability on this defense. Ship his whiny, mouthy ass outta here.

Officiating, it was 'just give it to em' all over again! And WTF was that celebration penalty for? Seriously?

Crappy defense aside, the offense showed up today and did well all things considered. We were in the game pretty much the entire way and challenged NE on the road and made it an entertaining game.

  2. Looks like John Fox is going to get the axe at season's end in Carolina.

If he decides to stay out of football in 2011 (assuming there's a season), he could be an attractive candidate for whatever past his prime former area scout is running the Bills front office at that point. A former NFL coach with a Super Bowl on his resume would sure look good after a failed ACC Coastal division coach posts 5 wins in 2 seasons. The question is: would he be willing to work for a lifetime supply of comfortable sweaters and $10,000 of chips at Seneca Niagara? I bet a rather generous gift certificate to Duffs would also be thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Yes he is and as someone who has watched every game the panthers have played (they are my #2 Team) I have to say no way in friggin hell do I want that POS here. Hell just bring back Jauron, you are getting the same guy.

  3. I agree with you completely. I've been a fan since 63 and think the Superbowl Years were but an aboration, and only due to Bill Polian. The Bills have never been winners, and are unlikely to change anytime soon. Even the "great Marv", retired with a losing record overall. Except for Saban and Chan, all the other coaches had losing records as well.

Before Polian and after they have sucked. The common factor? Ralph Wilson. Only when this guy is out of the picture does this franchise really have a chance to turn around. Thank God we had Polian for a few years or this team would NEVER have won a superbowl and you can take about 7-8 of those winning seasons off the overall record.

  4. Three picks near the top of the 1st 3 rounds, and not a one is starting on an God-awful football team... that is just ridiculous.

Exactly. If this kid isn't getting 25 touches a game then it was a bad pick at #9. You do NOT take utility players that high. New Orleans isn't going to pay Reggie Bush anywhere near what he has been making on his next contract if he is nothing but a part time player. You just can't do that in the NFL and succeed.

As for as the OL again bull. This team was ranked 16th in rushing last year with a guy less talented. Also many backs like Barry Sanders played unGodly behind crap OL's. This is starting to reek of another wasted high draft pick by the Bills.

  5. Given Ralph's age, I can't see him waiting two years to make another move...

Even for man in his 90's I'll wager he is still very football savvy and has to be wondering what he got himself into with Nix and Gailey. This offensive guru was supposed to be an upgrade to a failing offense, instead it looks worse then it did last season with Jauron firing the OC and cutting linemen two weeks before the season starts. They didn't replace TO after letting him go, they didn't upgrade LT or RT and they didn't upgrade the tight end position, instead they draft another RB when they already had 2 really good RB's on the roster.

Should this team continue to experience more blowout games like they had against Green Bay, the offense continue to flounder and fail, the team not win games, I would think Grampy Wilson will make a move sometime this year.

You greatly overestimate Ralphs mental abilities. Watching him at PC's he doesn't seem to know if he wet his depends half the time.

  6. He was listed as the starter in game one but now he isn't. Now they want to 'bring him along slowly' when every other rookie RB is starting and beginning to kick ass. Did the Bills miss again on a first round pick? It is just a known thing that RB is hands down the easiest position to just start as a rookie in the NFL. Spiller is hands down the most explosive weapon we have and he is sitting? He is the highest paid back on the team and he is sitting? This kid was clearly the best in the preseason, was here for OTA's etc Vs lynch sitting at home etc. So WTF? WTF is Gailey thinking sitting our #9 high paid, most talented RB on the bench?

We better pray that this kid becomes a full time starter because teams can't afford with the cap to pay multi millions to utility players.

  7. This makes me absolutely sick!!!! Why did we draft him then? Why not Bulaga or trade down. If he's so explosive, why not stick him in there. Our drafting is awful. I didn't think it could get worse after Jauron, but it might. It's waaaay to warly to call anyone a bust, but two of our draftees are D-II players! One is a DE then converted to ILB!!!! I wanna jump. Someone pull me back in or shove me off quick!

    per rotoworld:

Updating a previous item, coach Chan Gailey now concedes that C.J. Spiller won't play a major offensive role in the short-term.

"He's still going to make a lot of big plays for us in the future," Gailey said. "We just need to get him going on a little slower pace than throwing him in there from the get-go." Spiller is "not sure" if he will player a bigger role this week than last, when he carried the ball just once. Expect him to be used as a situational player with more of an impact in the passing game

Is Best being brought along at a slower pace? Are any of the other 39 rookies starting in the NFL? This just shows me they wasted the #9 pick on a utility player that we will be overpaying for years to come.

  8. They are the bosses who need a product ie the best football players. IF you dont have them you dont have the product.

Sure you do. Bring in guys that haven't played yet and let them develop and continue to draft. Fans are still going to attend games, There will still be TV contracts etc. The game will go on and in 3 years you wont be able to tell the difference between the guys on the field now an the ones that will be on the field then.

  9. I think BB is right. Lynch is the best all around back on our team. He is a strong runner and should be the feature back. Fred and CJ should be backing him up and play on 3rd and long and multi-back sets.

I realize Lynch is a thug. I don't care. He is the best RB on our team and until he gets himself suspended again, he should be our #1 back.

Nice so the most explosive back we have should be a backup to an underperforming, dancing behind the line RB. Yeah and CJ also makes more than the other two so lets keep our most expensive back on the bench. Typical buffalo bills thinking.
