  1. The thing about Sal is that the show content is always sports-related. He does his homework and reaches out to sources to make the show worth listening to. He explains different nuances about the game and never belittles callers. No "schlocky" gimmicky stuff, which I for one, love.

  2. youtube.com/watch?v=mWkAMJ-eMB4&feature=feedrec watching this highlight you can see that Joe Ferguson had a cannon for an arm.

Watching that makes it hard to remember that at the start of his career he mostly handed off to OJ. And wow, was Cribbs a lot like Thurman ... Before there was a Thurman.

  3. Anyone watch OU-Tulsa in the first half tonight? That was absolutely the K-Gun. Not some mere "no-huddle," (it was no-huddle, and so much more) but the K-Gun that we saw 20 years ago. Running backs peeling out for the short pass, stud receivers going deep, tight ends blocking and breaking out; it was that offense. OU was Buffalo circa 1990. It was like watching Jimbo, Thurman, Reed, Lofton, McKellar, and Metz in different colors. It really was that similar.

(And to think I was rooting against OU.)

Love to see Landry Jones here next year!

  4. What time is he on? I hope that he didn't have to sign a contract that he would trash anything and everything

that the Bills did and sound pompous and arrogant while doing it. That is the WGR way.

The other night on the ride home, I listened to Mike Shoop (how do you spell his name? Never mind, I don't

care) complain that the Bills signed Tyler Thigpen to a 3 year contract and that therefore they had no plan

at QB. He extrapolated that since they signed a backup QB to a 3 year deal, that meant that they wouldn't

take a QB in the early rounds next year. Even when someone pointed out that the Bills could cut him next

year and that the contract gives THEM the power, he ignored it and dissed the Bills anyway.

Listening now ... Love hearing him ... Hope he gets an even better time slot. Go sal!

  5. Ralph is fine, he can afford to have a doctor in his house like the old man in Being There. You can't compare a multi-millionaire of the same age with an average guy.

Rich or not, when you get in your 90s, there are some things a doctor can't fix ... Eventually, your engine wears out and new spark plugs aren't an option.

My season seats are in front of Mr Wilson's box. He was not present for either preseason game this season. That is not ususual, however, he will be there opening day unless he is dead. Last year, for the first time, there were EMT's on station at the entrance to his box, and that isn't a good sign. Mr Wilson, live long and prosper!!

Nice sentiments, but let me change it a bit ... Mr. Wilson sell our team, then live long and prosper!

  6. ...God, but they remind me of the '70's teams that were sooo bad for sooo long.

At least the red helmies represent our Super Bowl years and have a little glory behind them. Seen the roadies and now the "homeies". Negatory for me.

Funny, they remind me of the Chuck Knox era team that ended the 0-for the1970s streak against the dolphins and won division titles. Fergy, Cribbs, Butler, Frank Lewis, Dobler, Haslett, Sherman White, Ben Williams, Smerlas ... Damn, that was a fun team to watch!

  7. everytime i watch training camp videos on BB.com he is making plays, and against chicago he was around the ball as well when out on the field. I'd like to see the bills keep him on the roster, i think he'd add some good depth, despite the guys he has infront of him. thoughts?

Who is he? Why did his parents name him Doyle? Those are my initial thoughts.

  8. If I was a Dolphin fan I'd be pissed. I haven't checked out any forums of theirs but what are they doing? They lose both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams both pretty durable backs and get Reggie Bush. He will not carry the rock 40 times a game. He really won't help them at all if he truly has to be their #1 guy. That just isn't going to work. He is a good compliment but that is it.

Here is their RB depth chart

    1) Reggie Bush 2) Daniel Thomas - Rookie picked in round 2 3) Lex Hilliard - only played ST last year

anything after these guys is pointless to list.

IMO they got rid of their 2 biggest offensive threats. I don't consider Brandon much of a threat with Henne as their QB and no run game. Teams will just double him and lock him down.

No one can convince me going into the season that they won't be the worst team in the AFC East and a top 5 worst team in the leauge. They may put themselves in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes when the team quits on Sporano 8 to 10 weeks in. I have never seen a team fold like that 1 and 15 Dolphin team that we beat into the ground in the snow a few years back. I have a feeling they will quit just like that.

I see them 0-6 in the division, losing to the Dal,Phi,NYG maybe beating WAS, They will lose to Hou, SD, KC, they may beat, DEN, CLE, OAK

They started their plummet downward when they made the move to replace sporano and could't close the deal. They had to suck it up and stay with a head coach all the players know that management wanted to replace. They could bottom out and in a hurry, in my humble opinion.

I see 3 to 5 wins for this team at most. What do you guys think.

  9. I really have serious concerns with our offensive tackles. Bell is now hurt and out a for a few days, but if he goes down during the season we have no legitimate backups at LT. Hell all of our RT's are below average so it doesn't matter who we play there. I really hope our front office doesn't allow this year to be wasted because our offensive line can't get the job done. If the o-line doesn't do its job, all these skill players are a waste. The Bears game, we'll probably be starting Wang at LT. That really helps are first team offense get a good start in the preseason. Yikes.

Shouldn't it be if the Levitre goes in the Wood and Wang come out?

  10. I am not upset that buddy and chan are targeting players that will help be a part of the long-term solution ... Like, Tyson clabo -he would have been a fixture on the o-line. Bringing in mediocre talent or people that don't fit the scheme is only throwing good money after bad. I want players that will grow with the program, not castoffs that make few plays and get in the way of finding out about the quality of young players that are on the roster. The only way you know if a Danny batten can be a player moving forward is to get him on the field. If he can't, the answer will most likely come in next spring's draft ... Not from an older veteran cut loose by another team.
