  1. I don't watch ESPN anymore, but they're really just trying to reinvent themselves to avoid dying.  Think about it, back in the day (10+ years ago), you'd watch Sports Center to see highlights, catch scores, etc.  Well now you can go online to get all of that information.  You can watch football highlights on your TiVo (assuming you have Sunday Ticket).  If you don't have ST, you can still get highlights online, on-demand.  What purpose does Sports Center really have anymore?

ESPN broadcasts sporting events, great, but other than that, are they really useful anymore?  I'd say not.  Thus they're trying to find another format that people will watch (Cold Pizza, that football miniseries, movies, etc).

Never thought about it like that... great point

  2. I don't want to seem down on the team itself, but i am no longer optomistic for a victory each week. Now i just sort of force myself to watch, maybe to see a great play or to see JP progress. The fun is gone and it is all habit from here until the off-season. I think the New England loss was the one that deflated me the most.

This off-season scares me a bit though... another poster in another thread said that this off-season is going to be rough to watch from a player standpoint. Guys are getting older and not getting the job done, we might as well have 5 new players on the O-line next year, Sam Adams may be a cap cut as he appears in the dog-house, Moulds may be gone, Clements isn't worth the price of the franchise tag, but he will probably get it anyway (and i love NC, but he just isn't as good as proclaims). Seems like an overhaul may be likely, which doesn't give me the optimism i want going into next year. Eh, we will see what happens come February, but i hope FA signings, and smart manuvers at least make me as giddy and hopeful for next year as i have been for the past two seasons.

  3. That the off-season is a lot more fun for die-hards than the regular season... I think every year i look more and more forward to the draft, free agency, etc. Even those who expect the Bills to be bad seem to share some sense of optimism and the season just drives i out of us. But the past few years (outside of the run last season) the season has been a harsh reality while the off-season has been filled with hope and excitement.

Just venting and figured i would do it

  4. Am really thinking about picking up one of the two sattelite radio thingamjigs so i can listen to Sabres games, Bills games, etc (including pre-game and post game shows). Was wondering if any of you do this. What stations can i listen to on Sirius? Does it have WGR (laugh all you want but being without Buffalo Sports radio, even bad buffalo sports radio, sucks)? Any information or advice ya'll can offer before i drop a few dimes on it?

  5. I will be posting this message on several other message boards, so if you see it elsewhere, i apologize for duplicating.

I talked to a rep. from the Caps today and got some basic information on group rates that i will share with you.

A standard group size (eligible for discounts) is 15 people to 50 people. Once you get over 50, you are eligible for even more discounts. I will find out more depending on the kind of response i get from these messages.

The possible discount rates will be as follows (please see seating chart http://www.washingtoncaps.com/tickets/seating.asp for section colors)

    Red -- $70 a ticket

    Purple -- $39 a ticket

    Green -- $30 a ticket

    Light Blue -- $20 a ticket

Could be a fun event the more people we get. Please feel free to send me a PM with questions or thoughts. Thanks.

Just goes to show you, as all have said before, that this is a guessing game. However the Jets did a decent job getting both ellis and abraham at the same time. The Bears now have two of the top ten picks from that draft, etc. Just an interesting memory from the past.

    26. BUFFALO DE Arizona State Erik Flowers 6-4 / 271

--Arizona's Erik Flowers made the most sweeping ascension up the draft boards. He was virtually unknown, until the East-West Shrine game. He beefed up his weight, posted very good work out numbers, and slipped into the first round. Flowers will give some much needed depth to the Bills' pass rush rotation

  7. It is hard not to enjoy watching what steve smith does after the catch. After being seasoned for a few more years, do you think Lee could become a player like him? Small but fast as all get-up. Or is Smith also benefited from great placement of the football by Delhomme? I just wish the Bills could have a burner like him that can go 80 yards often as our #1 wideout. Parrish has the potential, but i don't know if he will ever be strong enough to get off of jams if he is ever lined up on the outside.

  8. I am not giving up, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't mind seeing Leinart in a Bills uniform, the play he made yesterday on 4th and 9 was disgusting.... that win against Houston is going to mess it all up for us... Damnit JP! All his fault again!
