  1. Been a long while since i posted on TSW but since its the largest diverse group of people i subscribe to on the net, i figured i may as well ask if anyone has read these books. I am looking at purchasing the 10 volume set, but before i put down $200 for the books i wanted to ask people's opinions if i am served just as well by the abridged editions. This is not for scholarly work, but for entertainment and interest in the time period. Any thoughts?

  2. Not going to post a lot about the activities today, and i am not going to say i agree with what transpired... but the moves made today were football moves... and while not popular now, the dividends will be shown in the next two-three years. One interesting note is that all our picks so far were juniors. If they each went back for the senior years and continued to evolve, each player, would have had a much higher draft value in the future. I think this is a draft class we will be happy with in the future, if we are looking longterm and not shortterm.

  3. I am moving to a new apartment in DC come mid july. For once i finally have an income that would allow for me to get direct tv and sunday ticket and nhl center ice. However, this apartment has no balcony, so no dish is allowed. Is there any other system on the planet that would allow for me to watch the bills and sabres games other than the packages on DTV? Just looking for confirmation of what i am sure i already know.

  4. I have been reading about this game for about four months... it was originally supposed to be out in March, so they could have it prior to the draft. It is supposed to be really cool and really in depth. Even though its sports, it requires strategy and thinking instead of just button mashing. Should be fun for children and adults.

  5. In all seriousness... if MM is fired, i hope whoever comes in here keeps April. I don't think he could find anyone on the market better at coaching ST, however most coaches like to build their staff's themselves. Same goes for Sam Wyche (although his direct impact on the team may be less noticeable at this point).

  6. I was reading an article today that mentioned Herm Edwards may be let go. I don't think this is likely, but if it does happen i would love to have Herm here in Buffalo. I think the Bills roster is more talented than the past few Jets teams and he has done decent competing in this division for a good many years. Plus he is a likeable guy, which is the reason for me posting in the first place. Likeable doesn't equal wins, but at least he is honest with the media and will tell them to F-off which is entertaining if we conitune to suck.

  7. I think you ride Marty until he loses. Give Miller a game in between, maybe the first Penguins game. Give Marty the second, and see how he fares. If he plays poorly, then go back to Miller. I can't see keeping a goalie out of the net that hasn't lost in three weeks regardless if he is a back-up, rookie, trade-bait, whatever. He hasn't lost.

Also another thing that bothers me about this situation that most fans don't look at. Marty is a real live human being. He has a lot of friends in that locker room and in the area. He knows his days are numbered. Think of that day in and day out starting in August til now. Its a heavy load that he has to carry on his shoulders. It won't be a surprise trade like that of Joe Thornton, this is a definite trade in the future, the question is WHEN. I feel for the guy, because athletes, are people too and i don't think any of us would work especially well knowing that we were only a day or two or three away from being transferred to another division inside the respective companies we work for.

  8. It seems to me that this is the exact moment the Sabres have been waiting for since the day they drafted Miller.

But what the hell do I know, I haven't watched 1 hockey game this year.  <_<

Just FYI, they drafted Miller in the sixth round. I don't know if the envisioned him being the starting goalie for this team ever. He continued to improve while in college and got better and better in Rochester.

  9. Just wondering if anyone knows the name of the Michigan Wolverines hockey player who scored that incredible goal in the early 90's but putting the puck on his stick and just lifting it and placing it behind the goalies shoulder. I can't find a search on google to find the guys name.

    Thanks for the help.

  10. Releasing them now or after the season as ZERO impact on the cap. Now, if they wait until after June 1 06, they spread the bonus money over 06 and 07, as opposed to all in 06 if released before that date.

Having said that, the CBA, if not a new one in place by that time, might state something differant.

Ahh ok, i figured a cut this year impacted THIS year's cap. That makes more sense though.

  11. I have been wondering this for a while now. Lets say that EM is not going to be with the Bills next year and MM and TD know this. What reason do they have not to cut him right now and take the cap hit so there will be less of a cap hit for next year. Same thing goes for MW. How does the hit get divided up and if it keeps some of the cap hit on this year, why don't teams that are looking to go in a different direction unload there players at the tail end of the season before the next fiscal year begins?

Not saying EM or MW will be cut, but just wondering about the idea of cutting veterans that are soon to go anyway. Might it be not to spread any ill will in the locker room from the management?

  12. I think what has people really beefed about this season, and is perfectly evidenced in this thread is that everywhere we had a question mark coming into the season, we have a bigger question mark now. LT, LG, DT, Depth at Corner (and now maybe a starter at Corner), etc.

  13. So, Ralph has fired TD, and hired... Ralph Wilson Stadium?

I just thought he meant they would pull any two yolks from outside the stadium to run the team and coach the team. I mean look out there on sundays at how many volunteers that think they can do a better job.

  14. It's just like the difference between dating someone and being married to someone.

While you're dating, everything is fun and exciting and optimistic. Anything goes and you look forward to all the new things you'll try and learn and anticipate.

When you're married, you stop getting blowjobs. And you sit around thinking about the more exciting days when everything was new and blowjobs could happen at any time, completely unexpected.

But excitement is just like anything else: the more you have, the less you appreciate it. Which is why being married is so much better. You learn to appreciate and apply a greater value to the things you started to take for granted. Suddenly, when you least expect it...WHAMMO...it's your birthday, the kids are asleep, you've had a couple of beers, you're kicking back on the couch to appreciate the day, and suddenly your wife is dropping to her knees in front of you.

Nut up, dude. Enjoy the game for what it is, not for your idea of what you think it should be. When we do start winning...and we WILL start winning one day...you'll appreciate it much more.

umm, wow... i guess anytime fellatio and the bills are talked about in a thread we all have a reason to rejoice
