1. That's half of the fun...speculation and opinion. With fantasy sports so big, we are all GM's of our own teams...so we feel our opinions should count.

Speaking of opinions, I still say we didn't trade up to get JP Losman.....he was wanted, but Evans was the key choice that cost us all of our picks.

We knew GB and STL were the teams that wanted JP. At the 13th pick, there hadn't been a front 7 player taken besides Vilma. There was then a run on defense. We could have very easily TRADED DOWN to 18-20, gotten JP, and an extra 2nd in return for the 13th pick.

That would have left us with JP, our 2nd (43) another 2nd (48-50) and a 1st this year (20).

Instead we have JP and Evans. Either Donahoe thinks Evans is a HOF, or he made a poor decision last year. I can't complain the way he played though.

  2. Clements is gone guys.......

So what can we do?  Tag him?  No way!  If TD can pull off a trade to the Skins.  I say do it.  Clements will clean out his locker after the season and say bye.  We will then get a 4th round pick for him a year or two later, SCREW THAT!  Do the dang trade!  We dont need a #9 pick, there isnt much on this draft that I would kill for.  So trade the pick away....  Trade down to a 18-26 pick and try to land on of these guys...

    Heath Miller  TE

Mark Clayton  or Roddy White  WR

    Marlin Jackson  cb

    Jammal Brown  OT

Also, grab another 2nd round pick with the trade....

Figure this.  That would give us a 1st,  2 or 3 2nd round picks (If Henry goes to philly its for a second/Cards will be a pick swap)

1 late first and 3 second round pics sounds kind of nice to me.....

I agree Navy. While Clements made a big jump up last year, our run Defense is what made this team, allowing our pass defense to look a little better. It took Clements 3 years to stop biting on every stop and fade thrown his way. People have stopped talking about Ty Law and Rolle, who are both still out there, and we get Kevin Thomas back at nickle who is a solid CB. With a #9, you can get the best pass rusher in the draft, which makes your secondary better, or the top OL who would be an upgrade over ANY OL we currently have.

Also, Wash is dying to get rid of Rod Gardner, who would look fine as a #3 in a stretch offense with a mobile QB.

  3. I am mowing the grass today and thinking about the upcoming season.  Well Ron Mexico and the Georgia criminals have 3 Monday football games.  The NFL is pushing old Ronnie on us.  So I get inside to look at his stats, this guy hasn't even thrown for 3000 yards once in a seas (out of 4).  He has a lifetime 76 career QB rating.  Completes only about 50% of is passes.  Oh and to top it off this guy makes Travis look like he uses stick'em.

If he is the future of the NFL, then the product on the field is going to be pretty bad for a few years.

It's kind of like the NBA, after Johnson, Jordan and Bird left, we got stuck with a career lifetime 40% free throw shooter as the best player, and a couple of promising high school kids.  When guys like Ron Artest who basically sucks is a "known" name in the NBA then they are in trouble.

The NFL seems to be following in the NBA footsteps and that is a very bad thing.

    307096

I feel your pain. Don't get confused between product and marketing. The NBA and it's marketing is one in the same. They play a playground game and market to kids and the inner city. ESPN controls all the prime time slots through Disney with ABC, so they are just co-branding by pumping Vick. They already have the "BO-YEAH" audience, and Vick's style of play suits that. To give Atlanta credit, they did make it to the conference final though.

Free agency is the NFL's biggest problem. You build pride through continuity and vice versa. That's why New England is so good. If you put their guys through the combine tests with the rest of the NFL, I bet they score near the bottom. They just work hard and for each other. Hopefully the Bills defense is at that point now, but I get nervous with all the kung-fu and bling bling celebrations because we hold a team to a 2nd and 7.

  4. Woulda been cool if it had been a dolphins game. Imagine the scalped prices for a Saturday night home game vs the felons?

    304477

Once again, Uncle Ralph shows his pull with the league in getting this schedule. Miami is a sellout, so why waste a night game on them....put Denver in late so they sellout a December game. The other duds, Carolina...Thanksgiving weekend (sellout), and Houston..opening day (sellout). Atlanta will be sold out because it is a probable warm weather game...and Jets and Pats should get there by gameweeks. If we have a clunker season, the only game that is in trouble is KC. Otherwise, I think the couch potatoes get 15 of 16 for sure.

If we are still in contention come Denver, get the stomach pumps ready.....and we may never see another night game again.

  5. I think you ask yourself why you do it. Is it to win games or to set a good example for your kids?

I find it quite rewarding to pay more attention to the kids with less confidence and have them believe in themselves. It's a 13 yo girls soccer league......any parent who complains is likely the same person to yell that the lottery is rigged when their $1 ticket doesn't cash.

Let the girl walk......remember her name....Google it in 5 years, and laugh when her overbearing parents led her to a life of online porn. Although her stage name will probably be different.

  6. city government is so fugged up, that it has been taken over by a control board.  In other words, Masiello and the city councilmen should all be layed off since their duties are now being taken care of by others.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the project.  Living in Buffalo for 45 years has taught me otherwise.

Bass Pro Stadium.......it has a nice ring to it.

It's time for Erie County to start using their funds on Powerball tickets. Then you might have a shot.

  7. They're usually very large, intimidating fellows, repulsive to most women and therefore seldom invited out.

Splitting their time equally between masturbation, devouring buckets of fast foods, and watching the hot anchorwomen on CNN, they channel their sexual frustrations and resentments into anger, girth, and an above normal awareness of the world around them.

That's for all my old OL buddies.  :)

    294355

    That's awesome!

    Although, I usually watch MSNBC.

  8. I don't have a problem with the fact that you believe Losman will struggle, just with how you came to your conclusion! :)

    290114

I hear you....I sort of have to play armchair psychiatrist in my job and make quick decisions on the fly off of subtle hints. That was just a huge red flag in making a quick decision on my part. I'm sure Donahoe did a little further research on the matter than myself

I just hope JP's swagger is out of confidence, not ignorance.

  9. Fantastic insights Dwight....predicting Losman's future by how he looks in the Bills merchandise catalog.  Learn something new every day.

PS How do Wire, Peters & Bannan look?

    290088

Like an undersized linebacker, a guy who loves his Grandma, and a classy high motor guy who will do whatever it takes to help the team.

The question was "What do you expect from Losman". That's my answer. Trust me...I hope he is the 2nd coming of Brett Favre, but for this year, I do not see big things.

  10. Am I the only one who thinks Holcomb starts the season??

    289541

No...I'm with you. If he doesn't, he will be by week 5. I learned all I needed to about Losman by looking at him in the Bills' merchandise catalog last year. He looked like a 7 year old who's mommy told him he couldn't go out and play with his friends. The rest of this team is not good enough to support an immature QB. He might have the tools.....but so do a lot of Guys.

  11. Everytime there's a post about how someone has money, people start posting negative comments about that person.  Every time.

    Section 211 Row 6 Seat 5 1998 Rich Stadium $38/game

    Section 211 Row 6 Seat 5 2005 Ralph Wilson Stadium $150/game

Pretty much the same deal as this guy. Same seat with a warm dupa and the right to buy a $5 piece of cheesecake.

Everyone was PO'd about it when it happened. Season ticket holders from the rockpile had to give up their seats because they couldn't afford them.

It is a business....so is life now.

  12. Hi Everyone,

First off let's hope the Bills rock next year but I think we have about 2 years before J.P. gets eveything down and really puts everythig together. Not to worry  about free agency TD has everything under control..I have notice some Bills fans want every free agent out there..sorry but remember about the CAP.I was born in Buffalo and graduated UB in 1982 and moved to Pasadena,Ca .I am going to open a restaurant with REAL Buffalo food sahlen's hotdogs, beef on wick, webers mustard, real buffalo chicken wings(I really need help here as I am having a had time getting the sauce correct) bought some Anchor Bar sauce but No way I can buy it as it is cost prohibitive.Any input on what I should serve or suggest any idea would be appreciated.I will have direct TV so that Bills and sabers game will always be on!!!

    THANKS

    280436

Hmmmnnn.......Beef on "Wick" and "Sabers"......you really have been out of Buffalo for a while.

Wing sauce is simple.....50/50 Frank's hot sauce and marjerine or butter.

If you are asking for advice here, I would say you must be Anglo or Jewish...or left the city at 4. No offense......what makes Buffalo food the best is the different choices from different backgrounds. You got the Sahlens though...good start, but you have to grill them. I say get some nice Polish and Italian sausage going....even some nice cold cuts...like the Bison/Battestoni/Rich's Cappecola and Salami......

LA is probably on the ball with the fact that there might not be a market out there. If you need a write off...fire away.

  13. Cafe' DuMond

This place is a must. When I hit the lottery, I can see taking a jet there just to go to that place and turn it around.

Check out the Crescent City Brewery just across the street a bit from there...homemade beers and awsome oysters with live jazz at night.

And bring a rosary.....that city is the devil.

  14. Alright...the key here for romance is not to go to the opener...but the 2nd or 3rd game when the leaves are in peak color. You probably get it down there, but it is a nice scenic drive through East Aurora....and if it is cold, stop for some hot chocolate along the way....warm?? stop for an ice cream at the fountain shop next to Vidler's 5 and dime....then take her in there for a neat time. East aurora is within 30 minutes of downtown, and the stadium.

Now with all this romance stuff......I'm assuming you want the opener because she said "Fine, I'll go to a game, but not when it's freezing." It is a total crapshoot on weather, but to make sure she is happy......you have to get her CLUB SEATS. Get them in row 8 or higher, since these are under cover, and heated. You can go inside a "private" club before, during, and after the game where it is heated and has a bunch of food and bar options...all concession, but an upgrade from a hot dog and a Blue. Face runs from $90-$150 with licence fees....and you can probably get them for near or even less than that on Ebay...or look in the classified on Buffalo.com

Now....if you do East Aurora in the 10-2 area......come back to your hotel and relax. For a hotel, I would suggest Downtown at The Hyatt Regency, or Adam's Mark. Both are classy enough, and right near some entertainment. You have to take her to the Anchor Bar, the home of Wings, which is right around the corner from those hotels (drive though!). There are tons of great places to eat, but this will give her some sense of accomplishment, "Ohh...we went where chicken wings started!".

After you have a few wings and beverage...head up to Niagara Falls..CANADA. If you go early evening, it should be 30 minutes or so from your hotel. The view is much better there..and more to do. If you are interested in casinos at all, I would pop in one of the two that are there......plunk down a few $25 hands of Blackjack...even if it's out of character for you...it'll get her hot. Don't bet enough to get her mad...just hot. There are a few decent restaurant/bars right there to have a drink or snack, Including the Hard Rock. There are a few touristy shops there, but you want her to just get a nice view of the falls. If you get there by 6PM, you can get the day and night view....both great. This way you can bail out by 10 or 11, and get some sleep before the game.

If you have club seats...I'd aim to leave for the stadium around 10AM. You'll be in the lots by 10:45.....and you can wander the lot for a bit and mingle. Everyone's a happy family, so feel free to check out the grills and tell someone you're up for the game. It's early enough, most will spare you a beer. After a half hour or so...go up to your club and grab a bite and relax at a table for a while. You can wander to and from your seats at will during pre-game...but make sure you're in your seats by 12:50 for the game.

As for rental cars....Hertz is my favorite, but they may be $5-10 more a day...but the cars are always clean and you shouldn't have a problem.

This plan is tried and tested...and you should have good results at an affordable rate. She should be happy...which will make you happy!!!...without having to lose your dignity.

Good luck...have fun....and donate the extra cash to charity if you like my plan.

  15. Great Eye!

Of all these guys out there, he looked like he has the most potential to improve of all..and is a physical beast....big, smooth, and nice hands. You could put 15lbs on him, move him to TE and roll. I bet he goes high. After Antonio Gates did what he did this year, there have to be a few GM's who would jump at him. From a movement standpoint, flawless.

    3 syllables for you... SUN-DOWN-ER

I'm assuming you are a Spikes fan with your 51 in the name. What would our man Takeo do? Would he stay in a city that didn't appreciate him after overperforming for them for years? Would he give them shot after shot of getting it right after they showed poor judgement in their personel moves, and a lack of commitment to doing the best for their team? I think my friend, that he looked around for a situation that was more promising, and a place that made him feel accepted for the effort he brought.

There are 31 other teams out there, and you need to stop limiting your options. Good luck, and don't drink too much.
