1. 1) Paying in Canadian

    2) The Pope....mass appeal

3)Magic Johnson...that's also the name the kids call his yingyang

    4)Suzie Ormon + Jim Cramer....that bit@h has to go

5)Johnny Walker Blue out of one of those awsome $3 rocks glasses the Bills send out to their season ticket holders to thank them for putting up with mediocrity the past decade.

  2. Commercial onTV trying to boost season ticket sales- involves numerous people stating  how long they've had tickets.  One spud says    'I'm the 12th man. '  So I rise in righteous indignation and shout "How dare you!  Only the Bills fans (and maybe Texas A and M) can claim that right!"

The commercial was brought back into perspective when one of the 'fans' says they have been a fan for "Tres Anos".

I don't know about you Dave, but it seems like the Bills front office is turning into Miami as far as the fans are concerned. "OOh, come look at the pretty jersey, isn't it beautiful and trendy...you have to have merchandise.....and we'll bring back players from an era when we actually had a team to make you remember what it felt like to be a winner...and you'll buy tickets in an effort to recapture that old glory...while in reality, we haven't done jack in almost a decade...but we have a hip new QB and the best fans in the league!"

I used to make fun of what tools Miami fans were for falling for it, but not anymore.

  3. You guys are all just pissed that you can't cry when something affects you deeply.

I know everyone is just having fun with Navy, but it's that passion for our country in military folks that makes our country great. If they didn't have passion, we would be nothing more than France. I've had a drunken tear-up many a game at thr Ralph during the anthem...what a great country that we can get together 80,000 friends, eat, drink, and watch a bunch of overpaid capitalistic morons run around on the field in the name of our community. God Bless the USA...and God Bless the Hulkster!

  4. Don't overdo the cough syrup because you want to cough to get it all up. I had it pretty bad and used a steady diet of Gatorade and Liptons Noodle soup...the real tiny noodles. I would just inhale over the bowl for 10 minutes to get loose. It was like a cross between a horror movie and a fireworks show to hear myself breathe.

  5. What short memories people have. The glory days of the Bills weren't always glorious. Besides Jim Kelly getting into a few scraps, does nobody remember????

Andre Reed (and some members of his family) got in a fight at a bar on Elmwood called No-Names one night after a game and he was arrested.

Darryl Talley bought a couple cops breakfast one early morning and then was pulled over after he left the restaurant and was charged with DWI.

Thurman Thomas swore at a bunch of kids and suggested if they wanted his autograph they bring their mothers over and he would fill in the blank them first.

Bruce Smith fell asleep at a stoplight and was charged with DWI.

Corneilus Bennett was charged with rape and spent time in prison.

These were just incidents that I remember off the top of my head. There were certainly others.

    351116

    Stellar!

How about Don Smith, Reggie Rodgers, James Lofton, Rob riddick, etc.

My favorite story about a Bill is when the BPD got one of them for potential DWI, they let the guy walk....and as he walked out of headquarters, he took a leak all over a cop car......they didn't let him walk then!

  6. First of all...good luck to you. You've had a little catharsis here...I guess Bills fans stick together.

A family member was a guardian for Erie county for 15 years. When money is involved, she's had families threaten her life, tell her they know her kids' names, etc. The court system is set up to protect your grandpa to get him the proper care. Your mom may be overwhelmed, but she should tell the guardian that your uncle is bonkers and has a violent history. If your grandpa has that much stowed away, he should be able to get top notch care and not have to worry about family bickering. If your uncle keeps threatening, then you tell him you'll let the state court take care of the matter, including reviewing his history.

I'm not sure of specifics, but if your mom hangs tough for a bit and wants what is best for her dad, you should be able to figure this out with a little help.

PS Any ND tickets on the 50?

  7. Good.  Maybe TD can help UB find an AD that will resurrect the football program and make it into something WNY can get behind and support.

    349671

I'd settle for him doing that with the Bills!

Poor UB. Hopefully they'll cure cancer, because I don't see the BBall team improving off of last year.

  8. I think there are TONS of out of towners that come in for games, especially when we play Northeast teams. I live in Florida and usually come up on Friday afternoons, and the plane is always packed with football fans from both sides. I know that on average, we have 6-10 people at each game from out of town. For the opener this year, we have people in from Florida, Mass, DC, Michigan, and NYC. It would be a decent blow to the economy if the Bills left..at least in my view.

  9. The guy had a bad knee coming out of college. He runs straight ahead and drives for yards, he doesn't scat like Thurman would with his knee. That eventually wears your joints down quicker than the average player. As much as people around here slam Henry for his brains or lack thereof, we're only getting sniffs for him because of his body. I would put my $20 on Travis over Willis on Trebek's show.

  10. The best advice I could give going through this now, and having gone through it before, is don't fret because it can turn out to be something else. It's good to have a gameplan ready just in case, but MDs are taking a stab at it until you know for sure. Whatever the course of action, your attitude will help to turn it into a bump in the road.

Don't feel guilty if you pop a smoke or two until June. Sanity is more important for a few weeks than any added damage that could possibly cause.

  11. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/397295

Has some size ( only 5-10 but 220 lbs. )  Don't know anything about him. Looked to be the primary kickoff returner for the Cowboys. Front page says he signed a 2 year deal.

    335401

I like this move. He's a shifty kid who will probably be our 3rd down back. An upgrade over Joe Burns and probably more consistant than Shaud Williams. Parcells had him in the starting mix early in the year. They have 2 real backs in Jones and Thomas, so there isn't much room back there now.

  12. He will be. I am assuming he goes off at no better than 4 -to-5. Still, this horse visually looks like a lock not only for the Derby, but for the triple crown. I watch a lot of horse racing, and have been a fan since 79(first time the old man took me to the Fort), and this horse looks unbelievable.

I know it is sacreligios, but at the end of June we may be making comparisons to Secretariat. Now, he only has had a couple of races, but that is why he will not be 1-to-5, which he will be in the Preakness. Jump on him now if you want anything close to even money.

Course, there is a reson i still work and do not make a living at the ponies!!!!!

    327811

I think you'll do quite well with Bellamy Road if you think he will be 4-5. I am predicting he will go off at 7-2 or so. There are too many other legitimate horses running. It's a whole new ballgame when there is competition up front for the lead, and waves of horses come at you. He didn't face that test in the Wood, although he should be a deserving favorite off that race.

I'm using Noble Causeway and High Fly. They both ran at Gulfstream all winter. The one thing most of these other horses have in common, Bellamy Road, Bandini, Silver Coin....is that they ran their huge race after shipping from Gulfstream. Noble Causeway needs to improve, but he is built like a freight train and should love the distance. High Fly is a consistant horse with tactical speed.

    My guess on odds:

    Bellamy Road 7-2

    Afleet Alex 5-1

    High Fly 6-1

    Bandini 6-1

    High Limit 10-1

    Noble Causeway 12-1

    Coin Silver 12-1

    Greely's Galaxy 15-1

    Sun King 15-1

    Wilko 20-1

All the rest should be also rans.

  13. Shockey WAS a 1-year wonder.  I'm am hoping against hope that Everett is alright because I think he could become a great TE in the league.  So no I don't think Shockey is worth the aggravation, draft pick(s), and money it would take to get him.

    325220

Word is down here that Rosenhouse said it is an ACL. I didn't get it directly, but the guy has no reason to lie. He said that the Bills will take care of him financially.

No link, but we should know for sure soon.

What is with all of our TE's? I guess Ryan Neufeld really is a valuable asset.

  14. I like the Punch Rare Corrajo and Hoyo de Monterrey.  As many have said, cigars are like fine scotch, you need to find something you like.  Definitely get the smaller Robusto size.

    321404

Great advice. A robusto is only a 20 minute smoke, but you have to have a quality hour to invest into a Churchill.

Hoyo de Monterrey is another good smoke for a decent price. I especially like their Excalibur 1066 line.

Fonseca makes a decent cigar that won't overwhelm a starter. That too is a $3-4 smoke.

Anyone ever hit the Tinderbox stand outside the Ralph on gameday? I've blown a few bucks there, but you find many appreciative fans if you bring some of your own to the tailgate. Football, Blue, the Grill, friends, and some stogies....Where would you rather be??

  15. You guys were killing me. We had a few stashed in the office, and just went out and smoked them!

There is the best place in the world down here in Miami called Mike's. Here is the website Mike's Cigars

The owner was partners in the old General Cigar who made/makes Macanudo and a couple other big names. Their online prices are great, and they have tons of samplers....but if you ever get a chance to go to the store, you are able to purchase 2nds from those General Cigar names for $1 or so a piece. They don't advertise them because you get almost as good of a smoke for a fraction of the price.

My personal favorites are Macanudo for a mild cigar. Partagas Black label are a great value and have a nice punch. And my favorite specialty cigars are the H.Upman Anniversary, which are a medium, but super smooth cigar.

The most fun is just sampling them....a bit more expensive, but it's like Christmas morning every time you get to fire up a new one.

  16. He won't be signing for the veteran minimum if he sits all year, because the Bills will still have him under contract.  A player must be present and with his team for at least 6 games for him to get credit for a year of service time.  Remember Joey Galloway in Seattle a few years ago?  He had to show up for the last 6 games (and collect a paycheck!), or it wouldn't've counted as a year of service, and his contract wouldn't've gotten any closer to expiration.  I believe the Seahawks traded him anyway, but the point is the same.

Travis owes the Bills a year unless they trade or release him.  And a "year" has to be at least 6 games.

    317538

    Good point if correct.

I think he'll be here the whole time if we don't deal him. If his biggest fault is missin blitz pickup...Losman will make him look better than Bledsoe.

  17. a great kicker is surprisingly hard to find... you would think in a world of 6 billion people, you'd be able to find 32 that can nail field goals consistently...

we needed to get lucky to get Nugent... we didn't... let's replace Lindell next offseason... we weren't going to win the Super Bowl this year anyway

    317209

Amen. I knew a guy who was 6'0", 225lb, and practiced longsnapping every day for 6 years. He got a free ride to College and an invite to an NFL camp.

You'd think there would be some soccer player kicking field goals every day in Ireland just for the heck of it.

  18. We are talking about a kid who would have had to file for Bankruptcy 2 years ago without an extension. Now that he knows what the rest of the league thinks of him, he can't afford to hold out.

I don't blame his stance, but bottom line is that Travis is a good kid who gives 100%. We have an injury prone stud in McGahee, ala Fred Taylor. If Travis comes to camp like a good soldier, there is a 50/50 chance he is the starter by midseason. If he sits, he gets $0.00 and will be picked up for the vet minimum next year.

I don't blame us for hanging on to him. "Duke" Preston is the 4th round talent. I think I'll keep my wrecking-ball backup, because if he walks for nothing next year, we lost out on another Preston.

  19. I know dib is the resident Canes fan along with some others, but I figure I'd throw in my 2 cents from down here since I work with a Canes supporter who has connections to the team.

These two guys have big upsides just from the fact that their QB here is horrible. Their offense took some huge hits the past 2 years, and they haven't been able to stock up on as much healthy talent as in the past. Roscoe is a hard worker and extremely coachable. He had a bunch of fumbles early from trying to make big plays, and he toned it down to secure the ball. Drops aren't a problem and if he is able to go to a place where he isn't "the Man", he can thrive. He should be a special teams deamon.

He loves Everitt. He's still learning to play his size, but as a receiver he is as talented as Shockey and Winslow in the short game. He was open many times and Berlin couldn't get him the ball. If he played with the '02 squad this year, he would have been a top 20 pick.

It really looks like it is going to be all or nothing with JP. He's got the tools now, and the feet to stay out of trouble. If he reads and reacts well, this could turn into a monster offense.

  20. Pittsburgh too, in most years.  Don't understand TD's thinking on what kind of offense we're going to have -- is it wide open, run & gun or smash mouth?

    315539

Exactally.....I think we are seeing the return of the K-Gun.

You will probably get the answer tomorrow. If we go after a 3rd down type back, like a Pearman out of Virginia, we may be looking at an offense that uses a pass to set up the run. With JP's mobility, he becomes a RB in his own right on empty backfield plays.

I am not thrilled about the picks themselves, but I like the potential philosophy shift.

  21. "This doesn't speak negatively on Josh. We feel Josh is a solid receiver in this league."

"Dylan McFarland has worked hard in our offseason programs. We feel he can be competitive in positioning for our offensive line."

"Ron Edwards and Tim Anderson are hard working individuals who will contribute to our team this year."

"Ryan Lindell was 88% from under 40 yards this year, and that makes him a solid kicker in my opinion."

"Our scouts really like what they saw from Roscoe. He was a junior who could have improved greatly in one more season in college, making him a 1st round pick."
