  1. First- I get that the outside run is a very unpopular call. However, when you're up by more than three and have the ball with a bit over two minutes to play, it's a tough call to make. If you have a line that will get you tough yards up the middle when the other team knows that's what you're going to do, you'll win a lot of games. It tried to exploit the expectation that it was likely we'd run up the gut. It also kept the clock going.

Second- As far as Dennison being ultra conservative, that's what McDermott wants. And I agree with that philosophy. We don't have enough talent on either side of the ball to get after people without exposing major weaknesses.

If the front office is as desperate to draft a QB as the people on this board, we never will be good. We need to get better on both lines and at linebacker. Tyrod Taylor is at least as good as Case Keenum and no I won't compare stats as they are different players.

Unless you're Tom Brady, there's always other options. We'll see what happens.

I'm sure we will make plenty of moves after the season. I will however go back to the "He's the same guy" comment. While he hasn't made a dramatic shift, I think he has shown some improvement in the short passing game this season. Tyrod was overly reliant on the long pass in his first two seasons. I think he has shown more efficiency this year, which is surprising since his Watkins and Woods are gone

I don't think it's Tyrod as much as it is the coaching staff and front office. I'm just basing this on the current track record of this regime. They are quick to trade you or cut you if you don't believe in the process. Tyrod didn't sound like a believer the last two weeks. Can't fault him, I guess. Tyrod also hasn't progressed in nearly 3 years starting. He's the same guy he's always been.

And that same guy has proven to be better than our other options. I find that preferable to the lesser optons

Judging from the interviews and some of his reactions to the questions, I think it's over. He'll want out and they'll deal him for a mid round pick. Best case scenario.

If that's the way it works, we have little hope. Regardless of who we get

    Who's gonna block for them?

    Who's gonna play defense?

We will be the Cleveland Browns if we draft two QBs.

Gotta have both, that was my point. Can't go all in on a QB with this current team. It'll just be more Peterman type performances.

I don't let Tyrod leave until I'm sure we have something better. He's been very solid on a team that really isn't very good.

We need a lot of help on both lines and at linebacker. Not to mention that Shady is closer to the end of his career than the beginning and we need playmakers at WR.

This is probably the most worrisome thing for me following the three losses. I don't think there is anyway we can go back to Tyrod after benching him. I was hoping that he would be a stop gap until we found someone better.

I was hoping for a lot more out of Peterman, I am not sure he is even a serviceable back up at this point.

Looking ahead to the draft, Cleveland will certainly be taking a QB with the first overall pick. The Giants, Broncos, Colts, Cards, and Jets are all in the Qb market as well.

What do the Bills do? Do they trade all our picks to move up to number 2 and take Darnold or Rosen? Should they stay put and take a chance on a guy like Allen or Mayfield in the second? Should they hope a guy like Lamar Jackson fall to them in round 1 (you better find a creative OC)?

If they don't hit on this position this year we are going to be talking about the same thing five years from now.

The worst thing would be to have Peterman play okay and they decide to go with him and not address the position.

Keep both until accumulation of talent pushes them off the roster. Peterman dropped as far as he did for a reason. He may turn out to be a decent backup down the road. Tyrod has proven he can play at a high level under the right circumstances.

....so would you still pull the trigger on $6 mil roster bonus AND draft a QB in the 1st of 2018 or let him walk?......probably as premature question so far, but the kid is certainly showing signs of improvement....except for the >300 yd yipsters who don't matter......"W's" do period..............

If Tyrod Taylor keeps playing well, Bills have an interesting decision for 2018

ORCHARD PARK – The NFL trading deadline almost passed without incident, but at the very last minute, the Bills made a huge move by acquiring wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin from the Carolina Panthers. This on the heels of the big trade of Marcell Dareus last week.

As for monumental decision-making, that’s pretty much it for general manager Brandon Beane until the start of the 2018 league year in early March because from now until then, there will be just the typical weekly tweaks to the active and practice squad rosters.

But on that third day of the NFL calendar in 2018, the Bills have a whopper of a decision to make: Pay Tyrod Taylor the $6 million roster bonus he will be owed, bumping his salary to $16 million for the year, or move on from the man who has been the starting quarterback since 2015.

He's our starter until we find someone better, AND you are always looking to get better. I'd extend his contract, as he has a lot of trade value right now. If we don't find someone better, he is our starter next season and I'm comfortable with that

  8. I banged the drum for Watson predraft. He is a special player. Scouts get caught up in measurables and you get people like EJ Manuel taken in the 1st Round. Meanwhile guys like Russel Wilson, Watson, Carr and Bridgewater drop. It's why a guy like Josh Allen who has no accuracy or pocket presence will go early in next years draft and be a bust because he has great measurables.

While I agree with this, it's over and done with. We aren't getting him now. Hopefully our new scouts will identify a good one.
